How many cigs does a cart equal

The tars in combusted tobacco act as a very efficient transport mechanism for nicotine, binding to both the nicotine and to any tissues the tar contacts.

Vaped nicotine, not being bound to tars, is delivered less efficiently in terms of being absorbed into tissue.

So, while a straight "milligram to milligram" comparison of the amount of nicotine in a pack of smokes, to the amount of nicotine in a given size PV cart, may be accurate and honest, the decreased efficiencies of absorption require more milligrams of nicotine in vapor than in burning tobacco (which simply has a higher bio-availability, due to the cancer causing tars).

I haven't seen any really good studies on vaped nicotine versus tobacco nicotine actual bio-availability done yet, so the ratio is anybodies guess.

It seems the average is that a cartridge of most brands is about equal to or greater than a pack of traditional cigarettes :p

If that was the case I'd be dead from nicotine poisoning :). I'd put the cigs down when I felt sick, I do the same with my pv when I start feeling funny. Those cart=x cig comparisons do everybody a disservice and are horribly misleading.

A cartomizer, MAYBE but a cartridge might be half a pack. Really I figure just find out how much you need and be happy you are not inhaling all that crap from analogs anymore.

I totally agree lol but my wife not Ever being a smoker is riding my ... cause I smoke this more than I usually smoked analog cigs lol. Had she is just worried I guess... Thats what she is good at anyway :)

I dont use carts I drip - and to be frank, I drip as often as I want (I tend not to worry about how much, the main thing is it isn't a cigarette and Im not jonesing for any) - I use 12mg nic btw which is fairly low.
I 'get' why people are trying to compare - because they want something to aim for/goal for but really you aim, in my opinion, should be to satisfy any cravings and keep off the smokes. Vape doesn't contain all the harmful stuff that your lungs hate - like tar and carbon monoxide (Im not saying its safe, jsut SAFER) so as long as I feel ok then I jsut vape as and when I want to. If you're worried then use a timer (like an egg timer or something) and keep to certain times only to vape.

For me I cant say how many carts i go thru because i top off alot, But i can tell you i go thru about 5 ml's aday sometimes less, that keeps me content and i dont crave cigs now, I vape between 24mg and 36mg also, Im a heavy vaper, I guess. Im not concerned.

I top off a lot too. Once you start vaping, you really stop thinking about it in terms of "how many cigarettes" and start paying more attention to how full your bottle of liquid is.

I'm dripping going through about 3 ml per day of juice.
My price per ml is 30¢.

My consumables are less than $1 a day now as compared to about $6 a day when I smoked analogs.

In my signature source, I have placed the total amount of money that I have spent on all hardware and consumables and use a zero $ figure for daily consumables. When ever I make another purchase regardless of what it is then I update my "initial investment" price to reflect my total investment since starting.

After < 2 months of vaping I am in the black and am sitting on over 150ml of juice, 25 full cartomizers, and 110ml of flavorless nic juice and some various flavorings.

At my current consumption rate I have enough juice to last me 3 more months before needing to make another purchase. So you can add about $540 to my total savings.

Granted, I don't prefer some of my juice flavors and will use PIF as soon as I can get on when an offer is up that I would like to try. (Always just taken by the time I see them). So I will be passing some of my juice on, but will be getting more in it's place, but my shipping costs will go into my total investments box.

Moral:
I'm saving money.
I'm having fun.
I'm healthier and will live longer.
And I have a new obsession that takes up more time and energy per day than my smoking of analogs did.

BUT... I smoked analogs for 31 years so I have a long way to go before my total investment of time and energy vaping comes even close to that of smoking. :)

At first I read somewhere that a cart is equal to 15-20 cigs but when I actually started to vape with carts It felt to me like I was getting only 3-4 cigs. I was using 510 carts but now I drip all the time. I use a 18mg 10ml bottle in 5 days and I was a pack a day smoker. I consider myself a heavy vaper but I know there are people vaping way more than me on these forums. I don't pay attention to it anymore myself as long as my cravings are satisfied.. I know I'm saving money still compared to analogs.
