How many drops for an RDA?

So got I my first rda yesterday, and built it with a dual coil setup which is reading 1.2 ohms. I'm wondering roughly how many drops I should be putting on the cotton for say 10 lung hits about 3-4 seconds each? I'm just worried I may be over saturating it and wasting liquid.

It really depends on how much cotton or wick you have in there, there's no straight answer. I just wet the cotton enough so it is totally saturated, but not started to leak onto the floor of the rda. Once I see that the cotton cannot suck in anymore liquid, I usually stop dripping juice.

But for me I would say like 3 drips for me to get that much inhales, maybe 4 drops

Shoot....depending on the wick, the decks ability to hold some juice, the build.....anywhere from 5 to 7 or so...

It's all up to the RDA and coils you use. I have an IGO L and it takes 10 drops no problem with minimal cotton, I can get 15 horks before the dry burnt hits start.

As others have said - it's all about the cotton and how much you have. What I generally check after I do a rebuild:

First - After I've broken in the build, I open up my RDA to look at the deck. I check the cotton and it should look a bit dry near the coils. I drip 3 or 4 drops directly on the cotton. I make sure the deck isn't flooded/drencheced.

Second - I vape till I get a dry/scratchy hit. I sorta count how many draws I get (sometimes 5 sometimes 10). The type of juice you use also contributes to how many drops, wetness, etc... I can also tell by taste and flavor dropp off.

Third - I open the deck back up, I look at the cotton. I make sure it's really dry near the coils. I may need to remove cotton if it's not wicking right, again it's all about the juice, your taste etc..

Fourth - Enjoy and keep on adjusting.


For me, I notice that my deck starts to flood or the taste is way off when I need to re-wick. It's always a learning process. Good luck!

You've gotten lots of good answers here. This is my 3¢ (inflation).......Igo-L - 10 drops. Vision Eternity - 35 drops. REO GRAND - 6ml's. I love it.
