I've encountered a few thus far. Friend's wife (having a conversation with her about her husband) and she said he did well for about 3 months but was getting dizzy. He went back to analogs. He's got to be a 3 pad smoker. Sister in law...tried it (gas station gig)...."Ehhh, not for me".

Wife: Serious chest pains. Second time trying it (went out to the garage), chest pains again and sheer anger. Don't know what the anger was about...maybe p'd that she should do it and didn't want to? Who knows.

A friend in another state by email...someone got her a kit..."Didn't do anything for her"...back to analogs.

Guess I don't understand...really, I don't. I wasn't bent on stopping analogs at all. Thought about it numerous times but never made a commitment....then tried the eGo at a mall vendor...knew right then and there this was the perfect alternative.

Am hoping someone takes me up on my offer...heck, I'll buy them a kit with juice and everything :)

Most of the people I am friends with don't smoke. I know a few at work. They have seen me vaping now since December 19 2011. They asked questions but nothing really serious. I set 2 of them up with my batteries and and premade juice. They said it was "ok" but neither was really that interested. One other gal was interested though. I could tell she was motivated. I let her borrow two batteries, a charger, two pre filled cartos and two filled with pre made juice along with the rest of the bottle. It was for her and her daughter to use over the weekend. I saw her today and she was surprised at how much she really liked it. I made sure she had the address to this website, encouraged her..told her not to set too many deadlines to give up the analogs..just do it naturally. It was so neat to know that I could help someone..to share in the excitement.

I can't get my Hubby to convert, no matter how hard i plead, beg, promise. I have tried EVERYTHING. All the flavours, all the mgs, he just prefers cigarettes :( However we are running very very low on cash at the moment and we don't get paid until friday so i am optimistically looking at this problem with some hope that he will be forced into using the PV.

The old saying holds true "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

So far, not one out of the 6 I talked into trying vaping has crossed over exclusively. It seems to me they like ecigs as a conversation starter in public, and a bore at home.
I don't think it's the taste. I think the fiddling and refilling and investigating new options that I so enjoy doing is just what turns some smokers off. The change from just lighting up a fresh cigarette every time is too much for some.
I'm amazed how many people barely even know of ecigs' existence, and how many online dealers there are.
I've read lots of dire predictions here on ECF re big business taking over ecigs, but I feel the advertising and public awareness will influence smokers more than word-of-mouth from a few vapers.

You can have the best equipment money can buy but if you don't have the WANT to it will never work. All we can do is show those we love/like how it is working for us but we can't force it on them. At least all of y'all have tried. It is up to the ones that have been shown this life saving product to make up their own minds. Hopefully some of them will.

Thanks again for all the replies. I think I see a pattern here, or I may just be crazy. It seems that the folks who actually did a little research on there own and was motivated enough to make the coice stuck with it. The ones that just had it handed to them seem to be under the 50% mark of staying with it.

I have just put my order in,so hopefully I'll turn out like most of you.

Well I got 4-5 people trying it out, but they still smoke normals. They won't really stop smoking analogs. It's just as you want it. My intention was only to try it ... with a 510-t kit. Now i just got an ego-t last week ... And looking at a lavatube now already. It just depends what you want, I just wanted to try it out. I like it more then smoking, no more coughing, taste, smell, so this is a no brainer. My intention was never to quit smoking in the first place, but with all the pros .. The only thing that holds back alot of people in my eyes might be, the taste of liquids, and people just want to buy something and it's go to be good on the first try ... I think most of here gone through a butload of juices, before they found what they vape all the time. I already went almost through 40 of em in less then 3 Months :)

If someone sets there mind to it, they can. If they want to stop, they can. It just depends on what the person wants

I've got 1 friend, that wants to lose another 10lbs of weight first...her arguement being weight gain while trying to wean herself off nicotine.
Then my cousin, who says they're 'too heavy'... I really don't get that explanation/excuse, knowing his drinking habits. I think the reality is that he doesn't want to quit smoking.

hmm i would say too many, as cigarettes are too easy to use comparing to e-cigs. just buy box, put in pocket, take out of pocket, pick one, light it, smoke. specifically many older people might see this so hard for them.
also i would say many people will quit e-cigs in finland when they just buy PV from store with 0mg liquid as in Finland you cannot sell e-liquid with nicotine. also ordering e-liquid from internet might be hard for some people too.
