How many licks before you get to the center of a burned dripper?

It's not as tasty as a Tootsie Pop.

Stopped by the vape store this evening and picked up a 3 ohm dripping atomizer as a new gadget to tide me over until the Chinese catch up with the AGA T2 production. I've read so many great things about dripping but my experience has been less than ideal so far.

The chick at the store gave me the rundown and primed it for me using about 10 drips, said to let it drain, blow it out and drip two drops at a time from that point. I didn't really get to try it til I got home, but haven't had the wonderful experience I've read about.

I drip 2 drops and get maybe half a cloud of vapor from each hit and it's dry after about 3 hits and starts tasting burned. And they're weak hits.

How many hits should I be getting for every two drops? I do get a few more hits and less burned taste from lowering the voltage, but it's still not half of what was described by the dripping fans.

Stats: 3 ohm LavaTube atomizer on top of a LavaTube set about 4.5 V with 8 mg Blue Water Punch.

I have 16 mg juice too. Should I just try that? Aw, hell. Who am I kidding. By the time I get replies, I will have tried it already. But any more tips would be appreciated. I thought dripping was supposed to be as simple as it gets.

And mods, I know this thread pertains to a specific type of vaporizer, but the next most specific forum I could find hasn't had a post since yesterday. I was hoping for some help a bit sooner, but move it if you must.

Have a paper towel handy and experiment with how many drips works for you ;) I normally drip three drops at a time, about 5 hits and its time to drip three more drops again :) BUT at any given time those drops and hits can vary by one or two:)

It does take most people some time to practice their own techique, but the flavor is soooo worth it :) I've tried lots of other methods of juice delivery since I started vaping and do use others when its not convenient to drip but most often at home you will still find me dripping. After all this time its just second nature and I don't even think about what I'm doing. :)

Alrighty, cranking up the juice both voltage and volume wise.

....

More juice, the liquid, just wound up running out the bottom of the head and getting the mod all sticky.

More juice, from the battery, seems to be working better, but still not quite what I expected.

Different juice from different manufacturer and different strength coming up.

....

Definitely getting there.

But I still think I should be getting more than 2 hits at a time. Dripping sounds great but @ 2 hits per reload, it just seems like more of a PITA.

It shouldn't be running straight through the bottom, should it?

Oh, edit: I have no idea what bridgeless means.

If your juice starts burning when you get to the bottom of your vape, it's because the heat is being concentrated on less juice. Regardless of what anybody says, if your juice is burning, it's burning. So, you can either add more juice when this happens, go to less voltage, or use a higher resistance atty.

Different juices start burning at different wattages.

I oftentimes drip 7 drops... and that is a lot but, if I just held my PV upright for a few seconds... yeah, the juice would start leaking out the holes in the side of the atty and through the notches on my PV and down onto my PV (yeah, this happens to me at times.. I do not use a drip shield). But, if you start vaping before this happens... not only will the juice not flow out the holes... the air coming through there will pull up any that has gone down there already.

The standard generally is 2-3 hits per drop. If I drip 7 drops that means I get 14-21 hits before I need to drip more. But, at lower wattages you will get a lot more... like you experienced already I believe. With lower wattages, you can get 5 or even up to 10 hits per drop. If you are getting less than the 2-3, it is probably due to the juice starting to burn and you stop at that point.

Hope this helps.
