My smok t priv died today. It only lasted for 6 months. I'm noticing this to be a trend with all brands. I get six months out of a mod and then it's usually trash. I Vape at 200 watt machine at 40 Watts. Does anybody else use as many mods, to where they break down every 6 months. Here's a list of what mods have bit the dust so-far
smok 80
Sigelei Kaos
Smok al85
Wise Mech
Smok t priv
I've been vaping for over 2 years. Is that about the normal lifespan for a mod and thank you for your help.

I don't use or even recommend Smok Mods, we got tired of replacing them for customers so much that we don't even carry them anymore.

I have 20 mods at the ready all the time and some are 4 years old. Only had 3 that actually packed in, an eLeaf, Kanger and the OG Drag... I helped the Drag along with it's demise though. ;)

I have too many in rotation to be able to answer that in a way that makes any sense.

Back a few years, all I had were 3 istick 20s. One I dropped in the toilet. One was old and not taking a charge well, and started to auto fire.

That’s it. But like I said, my MO now is just have stuff people say good stuff about, and lots of it. I like variety, and enjoy quality. Easy on my stuff though. For you an Aegis sounds like a good idea.

I think it's also about how you use it. Maybe the key here is that you need two or three mods to rotate, and they'll last a little longer. Been vaping 10 years and I've never had a mod die on me.

Edit: Innokin IVP II died on me after 1 year, it was an internal battery mod. I can't quite recall why it died.

Been vaping 8 years and never had a mod die. I have mods that are 6 years old and still vaping....I do however buy higher end stuff and it seems to make a difference I guess. But I vape mtl at 20 watts, so no strain perhaps? I think chain vaping those China mods puts a strain on them maybe

Part of your issue is the brands you've chosen. Three of them were SMOK. SMOK has a notorious reputation for using cheap parts, having poor quality control, and an absence of customer service or support. "We make cheap. You buy cheap. It break? You buy another."

There are a select number of manufacturers who have a much better reputation. Provape (Provari) was one of the best, but they went out of business.

Jac Vapour (series b DNA75W) and Geekvape (the entire Aegis line of mods) are two brands that I highly recommend.

Above are my three main setups.

Jac Vapor series b DNA75W, Geekvape Aegis Solo, and the Geekvape Aegis Mini

In almost 3 years only 4 have died on me. I guess I’m lucky because I do buy a lot of Smok mods, which don’t have the best reputation here (granted 2 were Smok but they were the awful M80+ and the M65 pro). The others were a Vision spinner and an Ego aio

Three years in and nothing has failed me. I really don't vape on the premium stuff. My oldest mod is an Aspire NX-75. But I'm also really not disappointed in my E-leaf Istick PICO (2 yrs), E-leaf Aster (2 yrs) and Smoant battlestar mini (6 m). My most recent acquisition, the EHPRO 101 feels like it has some legs too.

I guess what I'm saying is that it doesn't have to be expensive to last long, as long as it's well made, well treated and used at low power. For the higher power mods you're looking for, I really can't say. I have always thought (with no factual or researched basis) that anything you use at a higher power is gonna last less.

I've had a few die. Two Sigelei 30's, the screen didn't turn off sometimes and drained the battery down to where it couldn't be recharged. A Sig 20 shorted out. An iStick 30 had its 510 wear out. I've got a Pico where the screen is starting to fade.

They don't last forever. But some are likely to last for a long time. Some good ones have been mentioned above. I have a Provari that I've been using for 4 years.

Well I'm pretty new in vaping world, but no dead mods for me as well. I still have my first ever kit, an EGO-Ce5 here, and it functions well - very few use, its true. But my Vaporesso Revenger X has more than 10.000 vapes and still works as new. Same for my Teslacigs Nano. The others are pretty new, so it doesn't count. No Smok kits or gadgets for me in any sense, whatsoever. Maybe that's the reason of my good prospect till now, since my friend who bought a Smok in the same time I bought my Revenger X has yet told me their gadget are dead. [emoji23]
