How many other vapers around here also use snus (or other smokeless tobacco)?

I've seen at least one or two other snus users post around here and was just wondering how many other vapers here also use it. (Or other smokeless tobacco, though snus is the only one I use.)

As for me, I'm a longtime pipe smoker, and I discovered and started using snus a few years ago when I was looking for a way to decrease my smoking and also enjoy my nicotine fix where smoking wasn't permitted. (Started with Camel snus; graduated to the true Swedish version.) Soon after that I first discovered vaping and tried the e-pipes then available. They didn't work out in the end, so I gave it up until a couple months ago after discovering how much the tech and market have improved. I'm now very happily vaping with current technology, snusing Swedish snus, and, yes, smoking pipes. (I never intended to quit smoking entirely, just reduce the amount I smoked, which I have drastically between snus and vaping.). One reason I still stick with snus, in addition to enjoying it immensely, is that it's even more discreet than vaping, so I can use it anywhere such as planes, meetings, restaurants, theatres, etc., where vaping is still really not an option.

Anyone else?

I also started using snus (Swedish only) several years ago, not to quit smoking but for places where I couldn't smoke. But almost immediately my cig consumption dropped from about 35/day to 15.

About a year ago, I started vaping, still using snus, and still smoking about 5 cigs a day. I quit smoking at the end of November but still use snus where it's inconvenient to vape. I snus at work, rather than vape, and noticed after I started vaping, my desire for snus at work dropped considerably.

I don't intend to give up snus, either. I think it goes very well with vaping.

And also you! I agree; snus and vaping make a great combination of alternatives to smoking.

I've been vaping on and off for a couple years now, and struggled to quit smoking. It never really satiated the cravings for a cigarette the way it seemed to for my friends.
I tried Camel Snus one day after reading about it on ECF. It was ok, but didn't help the cravings.

Then while putting gas in my car, i realized that this one gas station in my town carried a couple varieties of General Snus, so i grabbed a can...and life hasn't been the same since.

My # of smokes daily went way down as i snussed. I just didnt want them. The real swedish snus was the *only* thing i had tried that was truly satisfying.

I now order my snus from buysnus.com. Straight from sweden, usually gets here (ohio) in about 3-4 days. I buy enough for several months and keep it in my deep freezer. There are many different varieties and flavors and it is fun to keep trying new ones.

I have been smoke-free since June and haven't looked back.
I started a new job last year where you cannot smoke on company property, so the snus was a god-send. They are extremely anti-smoking, and unfortunately they don't see a difference between smoking and vaping so i decided that wasn't a battle worth fighting.
I stick to my snus and i'm a happy camper.

I have recently started vaping a little again in the evenings and weekends, but just for fun.

/rant.

Hope that helps.

I used snus for years after quitting cigs off and on. I used it more regularly the last year completely replacing cigs, ran out of my supply. Was going to give up nicotine all together but began smoking again after some stressful stuff happened. That's why I tried vaping. Purchasing snus all the way from Sweden is less expensive than smoking but still fairly expensive. Was hoping over the long run I could get into vaping much cheaper (hasn't happened so far). Maybe I'll get some snus for when it's inconvenient to vape. When I lived in San Francisco I just had to walk half a block down the street to purchase general white snus in nob hill. It was only $3 a can. Now when I want it I need to buy it directly from Sweden. 40 cans is about $200 and lasts probably a couple of months or less.

Where do you folks get your Snus? I want some. Thanks.
Keith

There are several good websites to buy from, including Northerner, which is pretty popular. Personally I get most of mine from the local tobacco store where I buy my pipe tobacco, since they carry General snus there. Many tobacco/cigar stores in the U.S. are now selling some Swedish snus. If you go to the website for General Snus, they have a store locator.

That was less of a rant and more of a good plug for snus + vaping. :D
