Nynvolt I don't vape in public except at the casino where there are a lot of smokers. I am very self conscious about vaping in public also, even in my car. I am older and a lot of people think I am using drugs other than nicotine. I vape around my friends and they are curious and want try it.

What mg nic juice do you use? I started at 24mg and am now down to 18mg. Snusing has been harder to quit than smoking for me due to the convenience of it. I still use about twice a day at work but that is a big improvement for me.

1) Welcome.
2) You're in Seattle? And you're worried about what people will think you are vaping? ;) Sorry, that's bad of me.
3) I'm older and have some gray hairs. People see me vaping and have NEVER accused me of doing "other" drugs. In fact, I went to an event outside the other day and there were several vapers there (mostly eGo style mods with various tank toppers).

I'd vape away if I were you. It's really more commonplace now.

Just :2c:

P.S.
Why not try some nic lozenges or gum when you can't vape? It will help you break the rest of your addition to other elements of tobacco. Just a thought, because that's what I do. The "generic" stuff isn't bad...drug store brands...and is less expensive that certain name-brands. I try to keep a few lozenges in the car in case my e-cig breaks too. That way I don't have to carry spare stuff so often.

Hey again.......... I just started vaping to helps save some money because cigarettes were getting so expensive. I had tried everything to quit and had just accepted that I would always smoke. After I started vaping, it just got to the point where I love the tastes so much more that I quit smoking by accident. Been over a years since I wanted a real cigarette and I just love vaping. Great to have a place that has so much information but what makes ecf so special are the people here. Happy vaping to you.

Smoked cigarettes, cigarillos and was an avid pipe enthusiast for over 40 years. I love the taste of fine tobacco and had no thought or intention of quitting. Then, a couple of years ago, a young friend introduced me to vaping. I was impressed by the vivid flavor (Tiger's Blood I think), and warm dense vapor so decided to "gear up" and add vaping to my collection. Once I got up and running I tried many flavors/juices but eventually stumbled across flavored NETs (Naturally Extracted Tobaccos), and was blown away by the flavor and satisfaction they provided. Haven't smoked/burned tobacco since but vape it every day instead. So you see, while I gave up smoking I didn't give up tobacco and likely never will, I just changed the way I obtain pleasure/taste/flavor from it.

I am some what similar. I was hoping to help my wife quit smoking. Then I got into it. Never smoked or used nicotine until recently. I tried some of my wife's Chai tea 11mg. Man that was harsh. I now know what a throat hit is.

Unfortunately my wife still smokes.

I started to be my wife's vaping buddy.

I started vaping in order to NOT start smoking Again. I had quit for 10 years after 12 years of being a smoker. Recently I had been going thru a really stressful time, and found myself at the checkout counter asking for a pack of lights. Then when she reached for them, the Blu was right next to it. So I got that instead. The rest is shinyitus history!

I can understand 2buildawall's concern with what others will think. I'm in my 40s, do not think I'm the farty type, and up until a few weeks ago, had I seen someone with simply an eGo Twist + tank I would have thought they were smoking pot.

I live and work in New York and even with the liberal atmosphere I'd still be nervous about it, especially when working. I worry less about the people who will approach me and say something -- I at least have the opportunity to educate those folks -- it's the ones who DON'T speak up that concern me. I can't be on location doing time-lapse photography and have them call the company that pays me just to say "you're photographer is doing drugs on my property". For me, it's ESSENTIAL to have a decent setup that looks like a cigarette. Hence a big reason I went with the eRoll.

As popular or common-place as we may think vaping has become, it really hasn't become that common-place... yet. Especially with people over 30. My daughter knew all about vaping, but she's in college. Ask anyone in my extended family who was born before 1985, and they are pretty clueless.

Well I chewed Kodiak Wintergreen from Age 15 until I was 35. I was up to a can a day and while I was trying to convince my wife to quit smoking I bought us both an e-cig a year ago July. I had a hell of a time trying to get used to inhaling wince I never smoked before. By November I was hardly using any Kodiak and Thanksgiving weekend I stopped buying Kodiak. I've now been using e-cigs only since around November 20th 2013. My wife on the other hand still hardly uses her e-cig and I keep pushing her to stop buying cigarettes but that's not been working to well.
