Somewhere on top of the world
I haven't actually dropped mine but getting out of the truck Thursday I stepped on a small patch of ice, hands and legs flying in 4 different directions..... mus-ta looked hilarious....landed on left knee and left fist holding my vamo (that was only 6 hrs old) my glass tip went one way the tank broke at the bottom treads and bent the center post, vamo base came off and both batteries came out and broke my wrist.
surprisingly the tip wasn't damaged and after finding everything and putting back together it still works =)

Tumbleweed,

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, but to be honest, you just made my day man. I'm still LMAO!!!!

Nearly daily drops. In the garage, house, outside, you name it. I stopped counting. Worried that my novas won't hold up to the abuse but so far so good.

And the vamo?

I dropped my Vamo coupled with Aga-T on tiled floor, Vamo fine, Aga fine, floor not so fine- suffered a rather nasty hairline crack.
Bad Vamo!

Hmm. I elbowed mine off the counter onto a tile floor at a friend's house the other day. I didn't see how it hit or which tile it hit. It skid some distance and spooked one of the dogs. I think I'll inspect their floor next time I'm there.

SS VAMO and T3 did just fine!

I tend to forget it's on my lap and stand up then.... bang!

I used to do that with my zippo. Now I set my Vamo on the table & just knock off of there. I have knocked it off twice more since I started this thread. Oh, the humanity! The one (i keep 2 loaded)on my left has not been knocked over once.

Just today i put my vamo standing up in the floor and accidentally knocked it over. I didn't think much of this since i have dropped it a couple of times from desk and chairs. However, it went bad... *insert random curse here* after 2 months max of usage.
It lights up and changes modes like nothing happened but the output voltage is now fixed at 4v whether on VV or VW mode and no matter what V or P i set it to. The knock down effectively made the vamo an old ego battery... Not happy.

I tried opening it the way the guy in the video showed but I just couldn't. That top cap is insanely tight. If I could remove it I would even try to "cook" the pcb innards in the oven to reflow the solder and see if it would bring it back to life (old last resort method used a lot for video cards) and give you guys an update but this cap doesn't seem to wanna go anywhere. PLUS i scratched the cap even though I covered it not to damage it...

I dropped mine again at work today onto a concrete floor. My Vamo now has it's first ding after 2 months of steady daily use and about 4 serious drops, so far. Not bad for a $27 device.

I also had to reseat the top section to the lower tubes because it popped loose after today's latest fall. I just used a couple of pieces of 2x4 scrap and a hammer and it's back together and working perfectly with my new AGA-T plus atty.(This thing fits and looks like it was made for the chrome Vamo)

I have ordered an AGA-T+ so glad to hear it looks so good on the Vamo.

Man I just had the worst week in dropping ANYTHING! I had it sitting on a coat well there was a knock at the door really late so I just snatched it up and watched in slow mo as my vamo went flying across the room. It's hit so hard freaking snapped the threading clean off the Nova I had on it I also dropped it and I'm not kidding here 5 times while I was out for the day it's all beat up looking but works just fine (and now i have an excuse to buy a wrap) I'm starting to think the only way I'm going to bust this thing is if I run it over and with my luck I'll let you know when that inevitably happens.
