How many vapers do you know?

I started vaping after seeing a hardcore heavy shag smoker 50+ years old (a colleague of mine) successfully made the switch to vaping. After witnessing it for a couple of months and asking him questions about it, i figured to give it a shot.

A while back ago i met with a old friend of mine and was happily surprised that she also started vaping.

So for me, i know 2 people who vape. I have seen 2 other people on the street vaping, but i suspect they were tourists.
This is in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

At the moment i'm the only one in my friends group who doesn't walk with a lighter in my pocket. Now it's a battery. To me it feels like i'm at a beginning of something, nobody is doing it and actually claiming that i'm mad..

What about you guys/girls? How normalized is it over there?

I have 6 friends that vape and 5 people at work that vape just on my shift.

Back in the beginning of 2009, people would look at me funny when I put my Janty Dura in my shirt pocket. While still exhaling vapour.

Until maybe three years ago, I was the lone vaper in town. Then, a few friends tried to make the switch.

Today? I see vapers everywhere in the street.

In my circle of close friends, there is an entire family of vapers. Five people, all ex-hard-core smokers. In that single family alone, around sixteen packs of cigarettes have been stopped being bought. Every. Single. Day. We already see our beloved Portuguese Govt very "concerned" about the "health" of vapers. Right...

All in all, I'll say I know maybe a dozen vapers.

I don't personally know anyone who vapes. I saw a family doing it outside a restaurant once, and just last night, our waitress at a pizza place saw my vaporizer and asked how long I'd been vaping. She showed me hers, and we talked about it a little, and I let her try the flavor of liquid in mine. But I don't know any of these folks.

It occurs to me that I only know about four people who still smoke cigarettes!

I know many. In my neck of the woods, we have a couple pretty active vape groups, and frequent meet ups.

I think there is about 17 different vape shops in my area... must be quite a few people vaping to keep them in business

So far I only personally know a few at work. I see quite a few out on the street. One vape shop I went to told me there are over 600 B& Ms in my city. So there has to be a lot of us out there. No wonder my state's government is frothing at mouth over loss of tobacco taxes.

A couple of my friends had tried vaping but have since gone back to cigs.
I get lots of strange looks when I'm vaping in public and the occasional stupid comment that vaping is worse than smoking.

My siblings both vape and I have one co worker that I know of who is a dual user, other than that no one else. My siblings both live out of state so I don't get to enjoy vape comradery with them.

Sadly i only know a few but im trying to change that as i know alot of smokers. Most are very reluctant i even let them try stuff out if they like it they can keep it and just pay it forward to another smoker when they get a set up. But more often than not the stuff comes back to me and they rather stay smoking. I dont wanna be righteous and force the issue we all know smoking kills they just not ready yet...

Uh, 1 1/2. 1 for my niece who got me started and 1/2 for the neighbor down the street I recently converted.......I think. Not bad since I am in the same boat as alicewonderland. My friends were going to have a parade in my honor a while back, but one got sick and the other had to work.
