I vary because I use mech mods a lot. Right now I'm rolling with my Vapor Shark rDNA 40 using the Triton nickel coils at 40 watts, 520 degrees F. I don't really own any high powered regulated boxes (I have a series unregulated) so naturally my wattage depends on the resistance of my build.

I DIY my own 100% VG juice. I use predominantly a simple organic peppermint as my top note and sometimes mix in less then 10% of another organic flavoring.
I couldn't imagine the cost of vaping if I were buying the pre-made juices. I control what's in my juice too and avoid artificial flavors of any type. So maybe I'll dodge a bullet.

Plenty of devices for under $50.00 that are in the 50-60 Watt arena. There are some under $80.00 that will do over 150 Watts like the IPV3.

I have a Cloupor Gt 80 bought for around $50.00 that goes up to 80 Watts. It uses 2 batteries which is a must unless your one battery device has a USB Pass through or you like changing batteries often.

Actually the vapor production is too much and I have a smaller setup on the way for stealth vaping.

I haven't tried making my own juice yet. I'd like to do that at some point. I'm only buying cheaper stuff, some store brand that goes for 95 cents a 10 ml bottle and some premium but still super cheap juice made in Arkansas, White Lightening Liquid and AR e-liquid, which are both actually made by the same people in Clarksville, AR. I like S.K.Y. by White Lightening which is a strawberry/kiwi/yogurt flavor they sell for $20 for 120 ml. I always get it on sale. It's always 25% off at my local vape shop and the last bottle I bought was 35% off. It's really good 80/20 juice. My wife likes the Gypsy Juice Tiger's Blood, an AReliquids.com product. It's more expensive, but we end up getting it for six something a 30 ml bottle and she's not vaping much. She's still smoking quite a bit. I'm sure it's all or mostly artificial flavors, but I'm cheap and being an Arkansan I like supporting Arkansas companies, and I'm really just too busy to mess with making my own. I did just get a 15 ml free sample of 100 mg/ml nicotine from Nude Nicotine though. They'll send you that for $2 shipping, heck of a deal. I thought about boosting some juice with that and trying to vape at lower watts and seeing if I like that okay. I may try mixing up a batch of DIY juice too. I tasted some diy coconut cream pie the other day that was just ridiculously tasty. I need to get the recipe and order some flavors.

Aside from worrying about the health risks and spending too much on juice, one reason I'm thinking about lowering my wattage is that I would rather be a little more discreet with vaping. I was at a public thing the other day and it seemed like no matter which way I'd blow a giant cloud would blow right into a group of people standing near me and I'd get dirty looks. Most of the time I'm in my suit working and I carry a little Ego One and even that thing puts off quite a bit of clouds. I'm an old lawyer who is always in court. We do have to worry about appearances. That's just part of the business. I have the big fancy corner office, drive the Mercedes, wear nice conservative expensive clothes. The whole cloud chucking thing doesn't really go with that, and to be honest if I'm in court for hours I have been guilty of sneaking off into a hallway where no court is going on and hitting the bathroom and taking a few pulls off the vaporizer, and that was a lot easier using the old type of device. I didn't have to worry about some judge or bailiff walking into a big cloud. The old under ten watt devices are great on planes too, for stealthy vaping.

This stuff seems to bother my secretary too. Maybe it's all in her head, or maybe she's actually one of the very few people super sensitive to something in secondhand vapor. She starts coughing and complaining about her throat being scratchy even though she's in the next room. Even if I'm sneaky about it she notices and it starts bothering her, and chain vaping at 30 some odd watts is definitely going to cause problems. This 80/20 juice puts out big lingering clouds at those watts and some probably does drift into her office. I don't have a lot of extra time to be walking outside to vape and would rather just shut my door and not completely vape up the place. I want to get my nicotine fix and not waste valuable time, but I also don't want my secretary to have to work in a work environment that is making her sick, whether it's all in her head or not. She's great, takes good care of me and puts up with enough already. This is a tough business.

I'm going to play with stronger juice and higher ohm coils on my unregulated devices and lower watts on my box mod. It probably won't satisfy me being used to vaping at 25 watts on up to over 40, but I have all kinds of vaping paraphernalia now and have noticed that different tanks and different disposable coils and different builds do have different sweet spots. I'm going to go for flavor at lower watts, and I'm never going to buy anything that needs 60 or 80 watts before you hit the sweet spot. Even if you are making you own juice, unlike most people, and it's not costing you a fortune to vape at high watts, I think there is a point where you have to think about how you are invading everyone else's space with the massive clouds you're chucking. And you have to wonder if all that vegetable glycerin in your lungs, extreme amounts, is good for you and whether these flavors, organic or not, are good for you when vaporized and inhaled in relatively large quantities day in and day out. Organic is all well and good, but horse manure is also organic, as is poison ivy, and I don't think I'd want to inhale vapor from either one of those. There are probably things, natural and organic even, that are fine to eat but not good for you when heated to high temperatures and inhaled into your lungs.

I hit my Nautilus or Nautilus Mini on an eleaf istick 30W or 40W mod at 11.5 to 12.5 watts using a 1.8 ohm coil and a 50/50 juice at 3 mg nicotine. Above 18W the taste is lost. Vaping at 10 to 12 watts, I get almost 2 days on a single charge. On a typical day I use about 5 to 10 ml of juice. BTW, I get lots of comments on how good my vapor smells.

When I'm at home I use my RDA's and I'll vape at between 30 and 50 watts depending on the build and RDA.
When I'm out I like to be more stealthy because I don't like the attention blowing clouds in public brings so I tootle puff at around 12 watts with my kayfun lite.

For me I vape at around 80W on the average day, but sometimes go higher depending on the day.

I feel I get a better experience at around 80W as I get better flavour, more vapor etc.

But I go through about 30ML a day on my RDA'S or my TFV4.

So my question is... Do you enjoy a low wattage vape or do you like sub-ohming?

After buying and testing around 2,250ml in the last month I can tell you that flavor is highly subjective and depends greatly on the power applied. I started using a 75W Sigelei and am now using a 150W Sigelei, both with the same 0.3ohm coil and Aspire Atlantis II tank, and I can tell you that you are probably going to get the most flavor between 35W and 45W. Heavy clouds are going to be above 50W. The more power you push through your device the more juice you are going to use.

I know that the coil is rated at 70W to 80W but the flavors in most juices are going to turn harsh or non existent at that range.

This is of course just my opinion, but I'm non stop vaping, running 5 tanks, and am going through a lot of juice.

I don't understand how anyone can vape at 20W or less, you get nothing, anything below 50W to me means that I get a lot less flavour and no vapour at all.

I am not a cloud chaser but don't you guys ever feel that you want more flavour or even a little more vapour production?

I'm not a "cloud chaser" either, but I love the nic hit. Right at around 50W on my rig, I start to develop a trade off btw flavor and nic intake. Some flavors don't seem to reproduce when I'm at 60W+ so I start testing against what the manufacturer says I'm supposed to be tasting at around 40W and increase it to "whatever" over the course of the tank capacity, upward toward 60W. The 0.3ohm coils I run in my Sigelei 150W mod are good for 70W to 80W but at those ranges, I've never been able to taste all the flavors as advertised.

I often wonder what the purpose of these type threads actually is.

Watts used for vaping will always be dependent on what one is vaping at the time.

If one always vapes around 80 watts, they have a very limited supply of high air flow devices.

Some of us vape anywhere from 7/8watts to over 80 watts depending on what we have picked up at the time.

Personally, vaping is for pleasure, not power.

I love subohming, could never get into 1ohm coils+ feels like I'm smoking a stanky. I'm still learning though like I vape 0.5 usually at maybe 25watts and I get a lot of splashing or I suck up juice so I'm now experimenting with higher wattages currently vaping at around 30-37watts still get flavor but if I go to around 37watts I find my juices lack flavor but get more vapor which imo is weird and if I'm using a tank like my aspire triton I actually am getting less vapor the higher I go I think the wicking in the premade coils are not as great as RDA's. rda I can go higher but I don't enjoy very warm vapor.

I run my Nautilus and Nautilus Mini at between 13-15W with the 1.8-ohm coils and use between 3-5ml of 50/50 juice per day. Lately, I have been experimenting with the Subtank Mini's RBA, winding 1.8-ohm coils with cotton wicks. Running the RBA at 13-15W with 50/50 juice uses just about 4ml per day.

I bought 12 VTC4's, 5 have died so got 7 left, next time one dies I'm getting another 6, I sometimes work away from power so I need a healthy supply of backups.. I did make a 12v/110v Solar charging station that has 27 amp hours or 27000mah of power but I use that mainly for my drill batteries but do charge my vape when needed also great for power outtages, saved my .... last summer when my vape was almost dead and we had a 6 hour outtage.

i dont like the coils they burn WAY too easily i mean the cotton. i rarely can go above 30watts before i start getting a burnt taste with the 0.5ohms 22wats is what i usually vape with my tank and it's meh.. decent but not the best imo
