How many watts can I safely pump into my coil? (without burning it)

Hey guys, I just picked up an eLeaf iStick and I'm using with an Aerotank V2 with the 1.2ohm dual coils. How much power can I safely pump into these coils without fear of burning up my coils, or worrying that the coil can't wick fast enough. I tried the full 20W on my iStick, and it definitely tastes "off" so I'm assuming that's way too high. What is a good "safe" max for this setup?

You're looking at around ~8 - 9 watts.

I would get burnt hits above 9.5 watts when I was using that tank on my MVP2

Edited to add.... that was using factory made coils. If or when you decide to wrap your own coils, you'll be able to increase the wattage without scorching your juice. But for now just enjoy vaping. :)

Does that chart account for using dual coil? I know a lot of the charts online were only designed with single coil in my mind. Also I know the new Kanger dual coils were just updated recently. Possibly they can handle more?

It's not really about the coil being able to handle the heat - it's the wick not being able to wick juice fast enough. Factory heads have tiny wicks.

I just got my own eleaf istick in today, I'd read a lot prior to purchase and even more while waiting on it to arrive. Knowing what to expect in its unique take on VV and VW helped make it fit right into my regiment, I'm in agreement with Equilibrium, just work up until you find the sweet spot and then sit back and enjoy. I'm quite impressed, though have already noted the ease in which it can hit that burn taste with kanger dual coils in both mini protank 3 and genitank.
