I got this information from my best friend who is a Physician with Keiser Permanente:

Doctors which use computerized electronic health records can document whether someone is smoking, what medications they are using to try to quit or other alternatives. They can document all of that information in theei patients' progress charts. Each Doctor at any time can electronically do a specific chart search and compile the data.
For example they can do a search for smokers who have tried the patch and have had no success, etc... They can search for any timeline they wish: Example: Smokers seen and treated within the last 6 months. They can really get specific.

I think for any of us who vape, it would be an excellent idea to tell your doctor what you have been using, how you feel, etc... Then ask your doctor to post your comments and what you have been using in your charts. Currently there is not a national database that I know of which allows Physicians to input this information, however if enough Doctor's have these kinds of possitive input from their patients, we can try to organize a way of obtaining all of that data and forwarding the information to parties of interest.

I don't know how many users there are in the USA, UK, Canada and so on, but I am assuming hundreds of thousands. If there is a way to somehow obtain all of that possitive feedback in one database and forward it to an entity such as the FDA, I believe we would have some muscle!!

Of coarse there are always clinical trials which could be performed but that just takes years!! Best case scenario is 4-5 years and that is just with a 1 year study (time that subjects actually try the product) The rest of the time involves oversight and just other red tape.

I believe that there is absolutely no harm in getting this info out to as many Doctors as possible. You never know when or how we could use this information for the good of all of us in the near future.

Maybe some people have cut down on regular cigarettes by 50%? Maybe some have quit using the patch + an e-cig with zero nicotine simply to help the oral fixation? I would certainly pass that info to your doctor and ask them to input it into your charts.

If anyone has further knowledge of this, I would love to hear it and of coarse help with anything I can.

Peace!!

Another very important result of such a database compilation would be "side effects."

Those will be important if our liquid is legalized -- and I doubt anyone knows for sure what possible side effects there are to inhaling our nicotine cocktail vapor. We need to know. The forum tells us some, but what does the entire list look like?
