Hi everyone in the vaping world. I'm new to this forum. Isn't vaping great! I had no intentions of quiting analogs but I did, simply because e cigs are just so much better! I've been smoke free for two weeks. I use an ego and I love it.
Here's an idea. If so many doctors are all in favor of their patients using these, then why not ask your doctor for a letter that you can use to show people in situations where smoking is not allowed, eg. work place, restaurants, airports etc.
The letter might be worded something like this:
To whom it may concern
My patient "John Smith" is undergoing treatment for a medical condition and this electronic vapor device is part of his therapy. It is not a smoking device. The vapor it produces is not harmful to others. Thank you for your cooperation.
It could be quite useful. Anyone agree of have other thoughts?

I think a doctor would have a hard time writing that. Just like oxycontin might be a part of your therapy your doctor would not give you a note saying that you can use it whenever and wherever you please (ie. driving, work, etc..). Some common sense still needs to be used. If you are somewhere using your pv and others even think you are smoking it will cause problems. Perception is the biggest hurdle right now.

Unfortunately, it's not up to our doctors to say where we can and cannot vape. That's up to our state laws and individual business proprietors. As usual, the battle being fought is against the ignorance and misinformation that is being spread by the so-called "experts", the FDA and BT. Having doctors on our side can definitely help us, but their word doesn't override current laws.

Add to that the fact that you'll not find a doctor worth his degree that will state that the vapor produced is definitely not harmful. Look at the warnings they give with the stuff that they have tested. Considering there is no real testing of the ecig, specifically the flavorings, you will be hard pressed to find a physician to go on the record as recommending them, nor any of the major physician groups such as those involved in addiction medicine and pulmonology.

But it is a good idea. It's worked for people and their dogs...suddenly everything from a chihuahua to a mastiff has been declared a service animal and allowed everywhere despite the potential problems, so in theory it would seem vaping could work the same way.
