How often do nic liquids really get seized?

Call me lucky, but so far everything I've ordered has made it across the border - Mt Baker Vapor, Alice in Vapeland, ZampleBox, novo, TheEcig, two DealExtreme shipments(gross) - even a bottle of [moderated] nicotine. I haven't even had anything but the ZB held for more than a couple days. I've got one last order on the way(not counting 0 nic from FT), and then I'm stocked up for the long run with 1L of premixed juices, and 5L of DIY supplies.

So really, of however many orders, how many actually get checked? Did I just order at the right time of year when they're too busy to check?

I think it has a lot to do with company labeling and 'creative' descriptions of contents.

If his few shipments is a lucky streak, I'm a miracle, I ordered about a 100 shipments of ecig and nothing seized. And I ordered a few hundred other things over the past 15 years, had to pay customs 2 times only.

I had one of a dozen parcels all at different times ordered, opened by cbsa then resealed with yellow tape. All marked Nicotene.

I think the % is real low.

My shipment from a Canadian supplier still hasn't shipped, so I figured if I ordered a much smaller order internationally, they might not bother opening it. And hey, they didn't!
I haven't even opened the bottle yet, as I don't have a respirator at home right now, so I'll have to take it to work

Rule 29 : Nicotine Strength
[1] It became obvious that some members joining in discussion of pure nicotine did not have any idea of the danger, or any knowledge of working with hazardous chemicals, or even any basic knowledge of measurements. Pure nic is as dangerous as cyanide - opening a bottle in a room can result in all present being poisoned. It must be handled in a fume cupboard, with hazmat precautions. Pure nic can be theoretically defined as: Nicotine 100%, 1000mg, 1000mg/ml, but is more likely to be found as 998mg, 997mg/ml or 990 mg (99%). We consider anything over 90% / 900mg to be 'pure nic'. No discussion of use or links to suppliers whatsoever [2] are allowed.

There is a very real danger of death or hospitalization with this material and ECF cannot support any publicity of its use or sources. There is no need to use it since far safer strengths are available for bulk mixing, such as 48mg (4.8% nicotine in PG or VG), 60mg (6%), and 100mg (10%). To protect our members and ourselves we do not allow discussion of or sources for anything over 200mg (20% nic) [2].

Advertising/promotion on ECF cannot exceed 36mg strength. Vendor's sites can sell any strength up to 89% though we advise vendors to limit sales to 10% / 100mg/ml where possible. Sites selling pure nic will be banned.

Sucks as it was 180ml of Meesetracks from FanceeJuice. I'll just get it sent to my office though and I am moving in a month so even if my address is flagged it's a non-issue for me.

I recently p/u 360 ml of madmurdocks from my us address and brought it across they made me go in and watched the customs agents scratch there head as to what to do..

They said screw it and let me go with the juice and a 24 of beer..lol

To have nicotine is not illegal in Canada. It is however illegal to sell it. Theoretically from retailer to consumer could be seized or returned to sender. Why some is being confiscated or returned. You should be able to bring it in for personnel consumption. Individual customs agents may determine its banned and seize it. I've been searched with juice in the car. They didn't say anything. I gave them my Costco receipt, so issues of not declaring what I had. I haven't bought online so no shipments. I'm in the states weekly so its just as easy to buy on the trips.

If I do buy online. I use an American shipment holding company. Use their American address, the shipment is sent to them, they hold it for pick up and only charge $3. They'll hold a shipment for 60days, no extra charge. Border is 5 minutes from my house and they are right across.

I made an order from the same place a day later just flavouring it passed thru no problem

There's too many rules involved with selling 'contraband' like cigs/nicotine and alcohol.. you can't have either of them just mailed to you across the border no problem either, and limits to how much you can bring across in person. Yeesh, it can even be an issue to bring cigs across provincial borders. Honestly, I don't think I'd chance it, surely there's plenty to choose from here in Canuckistan!

I just wanted to know from people that have bin in my situation what they think?

Yep it may be cheaper in the USA, but the risk is not worth it to me, as for cost it's way cheaper then analogs I'll never forget that.

Because its nic and not simply eLiquid my bet is it well get seized. I'm hoping I lose this bet. Good chance I will.
