I like vaping 24mg mainly too & consider myself in the same boat as you (OP). I like nicotine so I'm not really interested in cutting back on it.

HST I have purchased some 18mg for those times when I feel like chain vaping or for those times when I'm trying to figure out what's going on with something I'm vaping on (ya know how you take a hit then adjust something then hit again then adjust & an 20 minutes later you have a headache from too much nicotine lol). But generally I do love my 24mg.

I did try 36mg for a while too just to see if that might be something I like better. But for me, the amount I want to vape compared to the amount of nicotine my body found acceptable didn't match up. I got headaches from it after a while so I cut back to 24 again. That's a nice level for me.

So funny you should mention that. It just happened to me as a matter of fact. Started getting a burnt taste. First I thought my battery zonked out and was frying everything. Next I thought perhaps the Cola flavor had gunked up the coil. Finally found out it was just a bad head but not before testing this and that with about twenty vapes. Had to go out on the front porch and get some fresh air and was afraid I was going to fall off due to lack of equilibrium. Luckily that sort of thing only lasts out about five minutes. It's passed and I'm now taste testing the Vape Room Classic Bubble Gum. Pretty good but liked the previous two blends better, of course I probably still have some burnt taste in my mouth so I should give it some time. LOL.

(a few minutes later)

Yeah, not a big fan of the bubble gum. I'm sure it's good juice, I'm just not a big fan of bubble gum. Moved on to the Pomegranate, it's a lot better, kind of perfumey and flowery (like vaping a bouquet of roses) but that's okay, different than the other stuff I have, I like it.

I just started Diy, today is the first day I vaped 8mg all day. I have been vaping for 2 years mostly around 18mg and never less than that until recently. I was at 30mg a few months ago then 24 then 18.

The reason I have dropped it is because I like to vape a lot, probably 5- 10 ml per day. I would regularly get pains in my chest from the nicotine. So I figured I would reduce the nicotine plus lower the amount that I am vaping just a little.

I quit smoking to be healthier and I have had the mentality of many of you that I have no intentions of stopping vaping. But I need to vape healthy too, and for me the higher nic levels were not good anymore.

I started at 16. I can do 12, but I do vape more. So I mix it up. I keep a 3ml bottle of 18mg liquid when I need it, otherwise I stick with 12mg. I am beginning to think that a bottle of WTL liquid unflavored that I can add a bit to my other juices might be what I am missing. I really don't think it is an issue of needing more nicotine, but an issue of not liking the lack of the other WTL stuff.

I barely vape a ml or at most two a day so that's the big difference. No, I don't think I could vape 5 to 10 ml of 24 mg a day, no way.

And finally the Cranberry. Sort of dry, slightly sweet, another subtle flavor, not overwhelming, definitely a cranberry sauce flavor not a straight raw cranberry, something I'd like to try again after not having sampled so many other flavors that no doubt have corrupted my taste buds. All in all I'm happy with my 24mg sample pack from The Vape Room. Haven't tried the two freebies yet (orange and caramel) but that'll have to be for another day because I'm tired of disassembling and cleaning the tank for one night. I think Hypnotic is my favorite of the five. The five flavors I got are all unique and required their own voltage level for their sweet spot. They arrived professionally bubble wrapped. They did take a while to get here, but, hey, that's the post office, not the vendor. I will definitely buy from The Vape Room again.

You, like myself, might find the 18mg to be too much and realize you're chain vaping for some other reason. I had to cut back down or mix it up.

Yup, happened to me. Anxious, restless, on edge etc. on 18mg and 24mg....... kept thinking it was due to trying to quit cigarettes, withdrawal, something......

No.

Received a PM from veteran when I was a newbie, he straightened me out by asking the right questions. Figured out I should be doing no more than 12mg-14mg.............ta da! He was absolutely right.

As soon as I lowered my nic I was able to vape happily w/out that "needy" feeling, without feeling like I was on edge, feeling like I needed a cig, etc.

And as soon as I did that I was able to never buy another cig again and quit them and vape full time, happily.

Guess it's different for everyone, but you have to know your own body and moods pretty well.

I was at a vape meet today and was talking with a lady that is really stumbling with her vaping and cigs.

I turned to her and told her: "Do not be afraid to vape...you see that thing in your hand? You need to vape the heck out of it so you don't want a cigarette. You may even get light headed by vaping too much, but you need to do it as much as you need so you don't turn to the nasties. Vape the heck out it it!"

Doctor told her she's got the beginnings of bad things with her lungs (COPD & Emphysema) and she really needs to quit, so I hope I helped her to understand what she needs to do right now.

I agree totally! I don't think it can be said enough that you have to listen to your own body and trust your instincts -- even if it's not what you think everyone else is doing. When I first started vaping, the guy at the shop gave me 24 mg. I took it home and knew it was too strong. I went back the next day and asked for 12mg. He told me that was too light and wanted me to have 18mg. I talked him into giving one 18mg and one 12mg. I tried both and the 12mg was perfect. The 12 let me vape the way I smoked without getting too much. I still keep a little 18mg around when I need a strong punch of nic, but I also keep 6mg around for night chaining and do just fine. Don't be afraid to play around with the nic levels and adjust as needed, whether that's up or down. Some days I have a weak cup of coffee, some days I stop at Starbucks. Why would vaping be any different?

I had somewhat the same issue. My first juice was 18mgs and for some reason I decided to switch to 12. I started chain vaping and never really felt satisfied.

I just switched back to 18, and I feel great. I'm going to stick with this level for the foreseeable future.

I've been shopping around from various juice vendors and I've finally made up my mind. From now on, I'm not buying anything lower than 24mg juice. I have some fantastic tasting 18 mg juices but the problem is I end up vaping more of it in order to get the nicotine that I expect. When I vape too much, my mouth and throat end up getting really dry, and this is especially true now that the weather is getting colder and the air itself is drier. I also use up the juice faster the more I vape, obviously.

I do enjoy feeling the effects of the nictotine; in fact, that's why I vape. If I want to just taste a flavor, I'll suck on a piece of candy, and since my goal isn't to gradually decrease my nic levels I'm not concerned about it and also not concerned about being "addicted" to nicotine. Heck, all sorts of things are addictive, they say Orio Cookies are addictive, so if I'm going to allow myself to get addicted to something nicotine is by far one of the least harmful substances to be hooked on.

I got my shipment of juice from The Vape Room today (great deal by the way), and I purchased the majority of it at 24 mg. I squirted some Hypnotic (a pleasant, subtle grapefruit flavor with an average throat hit) into the ProTank mini and took a vape and it dawned upon me--that is a good mixture, that is a good vape, an enjoyable flavor with some nic kick to it. I have a small order on the way from Mt. Baker at 36 mg just to have something that strong around to test out the even higher levels to see what perfect level is for me. But even the best 18 mg flavors I have just don't cut it for me, that's for sure, and even though vaping is pretty harmless inhaling anything besides air can pose risks, so the less I can vape while still getting enjoyment out of it, the better.

So I've made some major decisions effecting what I purchase in the future. Tanks: glass, no more plastic. Batteries, VV or nothing. Vape flavor: pretty much fruits and mints, combination of both even better. And nic level: nothing lower than 24 mg.
