Just a quick question. I got my 6ml Triple V Polypro Tank and its awesome. I just wondered for anyone who is using a similiar setup, how often do you find yourself replacing the cartomizer?

I have never had a setup like this where the carto is being constantly "dripped" into. Since you can't inspect it without taking it out (which I don't want to do) how do I know when I need a new one? Do I wait for a funky, diminished or even burned taste?

For me it's taste. When it starts to taste "off" I get a new one. When I first started vaping my taste buds must have been much different (I DIY and I've had to progressively reduce the amount of flavorings in my mixes). Back then I could have probably vaped a carto that tasted like socks and not have noticed. Now I change cartos out pretty regularly whenever it starts to get "that" taste, or lack of taste.

a week? 2 weeks, a MONTH? I wonder what ratio of Pg/VG you all use and what type of PV and what voltage. It seems I have to change out my cartos after about 6-10 mls. It will start to draw tight and taste starts to diminish. I use 50/50 juice and mostly NET tobaccos. I use the 2.0 single coil boges or smoke tech resurrector jr. on a KGO 3.7v. What brand cartos are you all using. Im amazed.

Boge XXl 2.0's here. I'm using them in a DIY tank, I think the type of juice has a lot to do with it. I vape alot of fruit juices that tend to be pretty light. If you're vaping cofffee or something dark and thick I bet that wouldn't last as long. My cinnamon kills cartos like nobody's business

i use the smoktech 4 ml tanks, and the life on the carto seems to really depend on the individual carto or the juice.
with a tobacco/honey flavor i was able to use the whole 30 ml on just one carto. the juice didn't get scuzzy, flavor was not noticeably muted, it was amazing.
a few other flavors kill a carto in just under 10 ml. i buy all my juices from the same vendor, and their product is consistent. i haven't been able to find an average at all. whatever tends to kill a carto too quickly for my liking in a tank will end up in my bottom feeder.
the juice i'm using is 70%-30% propylene glycol-vegetable glycerin, always with a 3.7v battery.

I have the same setup you have.. a Triple V polypro and Pyrex. I tend to get about 7 days or 15 ml. The taste will start to diminish, so I add more juice. The carto will die shortly afterwards. When I try to draw, I get absolutely nothing through. When I change out the carto, that first draw makes all the puttering worthwhile. The first draw is always sweet and FULL of vapor. I's always the best part of my vape week.
I'm running about 4 of either the polypro or pyrex tanks. I have to change cartos about once a week, for all tanks. What PV/VG blend are you using? I use either 60% VG or 70% VG

Somewhere out there
I have a couple 3ml Triple V polypro tanks and i got about 2 weeks before changing carto, which was pretty great I think. If they taste burnt or just blah I change them. Some I can only get 3 days out of Smoktecks pre punched, some a week, Boges when they work. I am trying some Kangers now, will see how long they last. Has alot to do with the carto. bnrk

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. It varies from person to juice to hardware. I vape two main diy mixes daily. The first will last a month in a tank before I decide that the taste and performance has gone down enough to change. The other, I'm lucky to get a full week before the taste gets stale. I use the exact same ingredients in both mixes.. the only difference is one flavor... Flavorapprentice caramel cappuccino... it will last weeks in a carto with only one drop per 10ml. I guess it masks the filler taste somehow, it's very strong. (that's why ONE drop per 10ml! It's awesome with my morning coffee!)

Also some people seems to be more sensitive to the filler material than others. My cartos never actually die or get a tight draw, the taste is what prompts me to change to a fresh carto. I use xl boge in a dctank on various VV devices at various voltages. My mixes are 30%VG 70%PG with very very little flavoring (probably less than 5%) I use drops, not calculations to mix.

My diy caramel cappuccino recipe is 2 drops of FA caramel cappuccino, 4 drops of FA sweet cream and maybe (if it's within reach) a couple drops of sweetener (bought from tastyvapor) this flavors 20ml of my unflavored base of 70%pg 30%vg 12mg. Been using this recipe for probably a year now and the cartos ALWAYS last at least 3 to 6 weeks in a tank.

thanks for all the input, seems to be one similar factor; lighter on the vg. I use 50/50 thick juices such as the vermillion rivers. My DIY either no flavor or orange and clove last longer, maybe 3 or 5 days. It could also be the citrus and the clove as these are known as carto unfriendly but they are pretty light on the flavor. I recently started to add some Goodejuice coffee and cream to some of my tobaccos which is definitely not liked by the cartos. It is really dark, almost black and sweet. I can get about 3-4 mils thru and it slows down about half way.
