How often to you fill?

Hello fellow new members!

First day as a member on the forum. I was a smoker for 19 years and had my last "analog" on January 1. Started with a Blu, but quickly moved to Smokeless Image's Volt products. I use a 78MM manual as my "travel" battery for carrying to work and a 900MA X2 (an "ego style") as my "home" device. I'm using both cartomizers that I am refilling with a Volt flavor I enjoyed out of the sampler and nano bottom coils that I have been filling with Nicquid flavors. (Sorry if that's too much background...my first new thread)

Anyway...my question...

How often do YOU fill?

Is it better to "top off" throughout the day? When the tank is halfway down? Run it empty? Is it just a matter of personal preference? Will it make a difference on the life of your cart/clear/tank?

Any and all feedback/opinions greatly appreciated! :vapor:

If you are using a cartomizer alone it is best to top off as often as possible for maximum carto life and vapor production. When I was using 510 XL sized cartos alone I topped them off with several drops every twenty minutes or so depending on how much I was vaping. Using the same 510 XL cartos with a 5ml carto tank I only top off the carto tank once a day.

I do it when it's convenient for me, usually in the evening or over my lunch hour on weekdays. I decided to get into a fair number of heads, mainly because I don't always have opportunity to fill on a whim throughout the day and I also travel fairly extensively. As for my cartos, while I don't use them much, I find frequent filling desirable for the taste. For my tanks and clearomizers, it's a less frequent schedule, but I try to keep them topped at least once a day.

It's always a tricky balance when you're getting near the end of a coil's life. I'm not a big fan of pouring back into the bottle and haven't yet found a good method of temporary storage. (I'll probably end up getting some syringes/needles at some point.) When I feel I'm getting close to a replacement, I usually try to half-fill so I don't waste too much liquid.
