I use PBC Bottom tanks. I simply rinse the coil under hot tap water. Then get a coffee cup and fill it with the hot tap water and drop the coil in it. I swish it around with a spoon and let set for 10 minutes or so. After that I dry burn the coil. Put a dab of juice on the coil. Fill my tank if needs liquid. Take a few soft hits in sucesion until I'm getting the vape going.

As far as cleaning the tank I break it down and let the pieces sit in a bowl of hot tap water for about 10 min. Take them out piece by piece and wipe them dry (always checking to make sure my rubber grommets didn't get loosed up and fall out.) After I wipe all the pieces dry I let them sit on a dry towel for about an hour or 3. Just to make sure all water/condensation is gone.

to ecf Dan GSR. So glad to have you here and you already see what a wonderful place ecf is to be. When I used them, I normally rinsed with Everclear or Vodka and let air try over night. I did this every 3 or four juice refills. If I was trying to remove a particular smell I would soak them in Vokda over night and then rinse and air dry. Continued success to you and have fun.

I just rinse my tanks out well and just dab the atomizer with a towel. I then take a few hits (2-3 small hits) then fill with the new liquid.
I only have one tank now though. The flavor will kind of taste mixed but not for any significant amount of time. When I get more tanks I will probably do full cleans, really to try to extend the life of my atomizer and coil.
Learning to rebuild coils might benefit you too. It doesn't take long either.

You people obviously do not properly value alcohol. :)

I've seen tank manufactures recommend giving a tank a decent rinse in warm water every 2 tank fulls, and a full cleaning (soaking in some warm/hot water + a few drops of dish soap and agitating now and again, and then making sure all soap residue is gone) every few weeks. Mostly to help make sure it isn't becoming a bacterial playground, though it helps with flavor contamination buildup etc.

I almost bought an aspire k1 and I *think* that it is only 1.5mL capacity... Depending how often you vape, you'd be cleaning that constantly! I guess I am just lazy since I have NEVER cleaned the inside of a clearomizer unless I was giving it away, heh. I clean the contacts every time I refill and use a pointy beauty qtip to poke through the drip tip to clean excess juice but that's about it, and I have had the same evod glass for a year now.

cheers and welcome!

Truth. I have to switch flavors a lot, and 2 tanks in a protank/nautilus is different than a mini -- I think the guidelines I was going by would be every 5-6ml. If it's a tank I use the same flavor in, I generally give it a good rinse then break it down to dry faster when I need to change the coil, which probably works out to every 5 days or longer depending on the type of liquid.

Oh, just put it in. It's kinda like food on your plate; some people can't stand to have their peas touching, others are fine eating their blueberry pie on their plate that still has spaghetti sauce on it. Those people are both insane and need to be stopped, btw.

e.g., if the flavors will mix well well then you've just started your own mix. If you have like a menthol grape mix almost done, it probably won't go super well with an apple custard, but might be yum with a licorice.

I wash everything, every night, every day.

Why? Because if your breath/spit can get into a drip tip, then condensation can get into your clearo....that is entry for bacteria, plain and simple, and that will go into your lung tissue.

That's just me.

Esp. important for those who use bottom feeders~ Try dropping a drop of water into drip tip...it WILL go down into the atty connection, and then, can go down into your chamber, tube or juice bottle. At the very least, it will go into your attie.

No way do I want to vape "spit" even from my own mouth while it sat overnight in my drip tip, atty, atty chamber, etc.

I clean my drip tips 3-5 times a day (rinse in sink). My mouth goes on there all day long.

I have been pretty amazed, since I began vaping, at the negative hygeine things that can happen, whereas with cigarettes, you took one out of the package, smoked it, and discarded. Vaping is more like smoking that same cigarette, over and over again (in terms of hygiene) while it is exposed to all kinds of environments, and the bacteria in your mouth (natural, or from food, or meal, or even drinking something).

ewwwww.

I read about people leaving juice in for 2 weeks and I just .......curl up.

omg! ugh, I grossed myself out just reading your post. I am DEFINITELY going to start cleaning my clearos now. ugh. I never even thought about the "hygene" part of it, before reading your post I would only have considered cleaning my clearos if the juice was gunking it up.

I guess it's like brushing your teeth, it's a must. thanks for keeping it real! ;b
