I'm sick of people approaching me asking what I'm "smoking". It was cool at first, but after explaining the whole ecig concept 100 times, it's starting to get old. The eRoll looks real enough to where if it didn't have the blue LED, I think people would assume I'm puffing on an analog, which wouldn't invite further inquiry.

I tried painting over the non-conductive inner ring with a fine-point Sharpie paint pen, but that rubbed off quickly, and the blue light still shines through the center hole. I tried drilling it out, but I think the metal from the drill bit contacted the two terminals enough to weaken than battery.

Any suggestions?

Why won't they make a red/orange LED? I still can't understand this industry. Finally someone makes an awesome cig-a-like, but they don't offer all the options that they easily could have to make it more like a cig?! There's certainly demand for such an ecig. njoy realized this demand, hence the njoy King, a cig-a-like that is almost one-to-one with analogs, but costs too much and doesnt recharge. Hell, when ecigs first came out, that's what they were going for but couldn't succeed b/c of battery life, etc., so the industry shifted to huge heavy mods and such. Now, with the eRoll, we have easy, fast charging (cig snaps right into PCC w/o unscrewing anything). I digress. Anyway, where's my orange light?

Oh, and if anyone from joyetech is reading this, how 'bout you make your already awesome PCC better by making a flip-top similar to a zippo lid and allow us to vertically drop our batts inside, perhaps with a spring load mechanism. ...let's get on that, k?

We used to hide the head of out lit cigs when we were young, too young to be smokin young, so we didnt get caught by an adult seein the little glowing light. If you dont want someone to see the light just cup it. If you cant tell the difference between a red or orange LED and a burning ember well, idk what to tell ya. Ive used so many ecigs and gotten so many weird looks but NEVER has anyone asked me what the heck im doing.

use real black paint on the whole tip and then slowly remove the paint on the metal rings until it starts charging.

or aim the tip in the other direction when curious bystanders are around.
or only vape in your basement.
or wear a sandwich board that explains the blue tip.
or wear a brightly colored clown wig that takes attention away from your e-cig.

HAHA. I'll try all of those. Thanks.

Okay, does anyone know of a conductive paint?

If you were to paint the entire thing with conductive paint it would short out. I think your best bet is to get some testors enamel paint and try and do a real perfect thin coat on the clear plastic part of the tip. That would be permanent and sturdy. You can also nick if off the connection parts a little bit with a razor when its semi dry.

Only thing with enamel paint is it smells for a good week or two, and wont really be enjoyable to inhale through. I painted an entire eroll with it.

I was thinking the same thing re the light. A couple cig a likes have stealth vaping formats. No light. The light also must be using battery charge too and even though it's helpful to know its done charging in the PCC and that yes, it truly ran out of charge ( flashing, no vape) it's annoying at the same time. Oh just forget those people who bug about your vape for heavens sake. Where are you vaping for heavens sake. I've had about a dozen inquiries and a few looks from passing cars in 8 months of vaping! I live rural and retired but still...I think the light is a little more helpful than irritating

having some sort of indicator light also helps with troubleshooting. IMO, it's the best way to know that you're out of batteries rather than wondering whether you're out of juice, fried the atomizer, or the whole thing ..... the bed

True...it's good to have the indicator. I don't like having lights though in general (same issues as OP) and I much prefer to have a red light on my devices.

My anti-light logic is this: I never use my e-cig in a place where you shouldn't be seen smoking an analog anyway. Sure, ill step into the bathroom and vape to get my nicotine....but I just can't go up to the gas station, stand by the pump, and blow vapor in public. Draws too much attention and you look like an ......! So in a sense the e-cig will always look enough like an analog to draw that sort of attention, with or without the blue light.

On the other hand, I do know people who sit at the bar with them and blow it in everyone's faces -- they are the ones who want a blue light. But for them, there's the vape-specific-attention that the OP is talking about..."hey is there weed in there?," etc....it gets annoying...and so does explaining to people over and over what an e-cig is! Most of all, for some reason I always feel most conspicuous in my car -- driving or parked, the dude sitting there vaping in a car looks suspicious! And you FEEL suspicious! The red light, again, draws no attention in these situations.

I'll add that the new Ego upgrades solve this issue because you can change the light color :) The blue setting is a constant voltage (3.2) and the red/white light is the "vv"(battery voltage, ~3.7) setting. Took me a while to figure out it could do this lol. Not sure if JoyTech makes an e-cab/eRoll sized "upgrade" with these modes.
