It may matter. Do you feel burnt taste?
Anyway, if you want proper recommendations you need to explain what tank and coil you are talking about.

No burnt taste. I'm assuming that means that the wick is only stained and its not damaged, correct?

i will use boiling water to soak it and then dry burning to clean the wick.
No...lol. You dry burn the COIL to clean it, you simply replace the wick.

Maybe you are confusing wick with coil, but no one I have seen salvages (cleans) their wick, they just replace it.

The only time I have dry burned wick and all was when I was using ekowool, for a cotton wick, if I suspect there is a chance that later in the day I might get the hint of an off taste, I rewick. Hell, if I see a picture of a wick that might have an off taste i re wick, lol. My cotton is cheap and plentiful, so I never to get to know a wick very well, it gets replaced. lol
