MEK is the one I steer clear of.... that's a nasty "tone"...... I'm sort of surprised it's still sold.
Very good advice about taking a little more time and using more paper towels to get the job done.

Yeah... MEK is Bad News.

Many things are Just as Toxic, or a Known Carcinogen, but are Harder to Absorb thru the Skin or Inhale via Fumes. MEK has no Problem doing either.

I saw that the OP already solved their issue, and just wanted to share anyways. Glue residue from labels and wraps that isopropyl won't remove can usually be removed using mayonnaise or olive oil. These are my preferred solvents for anything in a consumables container nowadays, like e-juice bottles ;)

Neat..... I'd much rather remove stuff using something I can eat rather something that will kill me. I will remember this tip for the future....
