you can drip down the sides of it. Just drip and rotate the carto so the juice is evenly distributed. Or, the most efficient way is to get a syringe and fill it up. my wife calls it me doing surgery. Get about a ml or 2 of juice in the syringe and inject directly into the polyfill. When you see it's full, it's full. Try not to get any into the middle or it'll leak out the bottom. It's not a big deal just messy

You bought 4 ohms for your 510 battery? I would not fill it - I would see if I could return it. 4 ohms is for high voltage devices. A 510 battery (3.4v) is unlikely to being able to vaporize anything with a 4 ohm coil.

Slim 510's (which is what 510 means here) use 2.5 to 3 ohm atomizers and cartomizers aka standard resistance with 2.5 being the hotter end. I recommend Boge 510 3 ohms cartomizers as first cartomizers and Boge are the most popular cartos for 510 threaded devices.

If you mean a fat (14mm+ diameter) battery models like Ego, Riva 510 etc (450mah+ batteries) then you can use 2 ohms to 3 ohms and some will go as low as 1.7, some go down to 1.5 but that has killed some Egos. Mods can go that low though.

--- and here is how I fill 1ml cartomizers

How I fill Vapor4Life/Bloog/Volt KR8 cartos and Boge 510 cartos

With the carto off the battery... Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
Shake and open the eliquid

Fill
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18 drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges and most KR8 cartos are about 1ml).
Wait 15 seconds or so then see how many more drops the carto stuffing will soak in easily.

Cleanup
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges and the KR8 cartos I use have a defined center air channel and I want to see light through that) While the carto is still open end down, touch a soft bunch of tissue to the top of the stuffing to get the loose juice - this will help prevent leaks.

Settle (first fill only)
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me (I use 20% Vg or less) then you may need to wait much longer.

While vaping
While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting hotter than normal, I take the carto off the battery and add eliquid. Also, I use such light sediment-free juices, I can look at the stuffing and see if it needs juice because the stuffing goes back to near-white.

I often use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge and KR8 cartos (not to drip into since the juice would head for the central air channel). Easy to pop out to add juice.

Dormouse gave some great advice.

If you ever get XL carto, the dripping method can take awhile though. I'd consider using a syringe to fill them.
I fill all my cartos with a syringe and it's very quick and easy.

This is a shortened down version of how:

Shake juice.
Pull juice into syringe.
Remove all air out of syringe(like how you normally do using a syringe with anything)
Pop off top cap on cartomizer
Wrap threading in tissue or something to catch few drops of juice that could come out of end.
Tilt carto slightly and put needle tip up against metal sides of carto.
Push needle CAREFULLY down the side of the carto(on the outside of the filler material, between the filler and the side of the carto. Pushing the tip slightly against the metal of the carto helps)
Do NOT go thru the filler material, you can potentially move it and break a connection or ruin the carto.
Push the needle all the way to the bottom
SLOWLY start dispensing alittle liquid.
Do not dispense it all in one place, you want to dispense it in a few different places around the outside edge of the carto so the juice is evenly distributed) I normally distribute in 3 or 4 spots.
Fill slowly and you'll see juice slowly rise to top of polyfill. Once it becomes "slushy" on top, the carto is full. Don't overfill bc juice will go down center air hole, and more juice will come out threaded end. It doesn't hurt it, you just have more drops to clean up then.
Replace cap of carto.
Put carto between your hands and rub hands back and forth quickly spinning the carto. This will ensure juice is evenly distributed.
Then the carto is filled. I normally let it stand on end for a min or so to get any more drops out of center air tube. Ou can also blow thru threaded end to help clear juice out.
Then make sure you wipe threaded end well and your Carto is rdy to be used

I know it seems kinda confusing but it's VERY easy and very quick. Try it a few times and you'll catch on very quickly. I fill a carto in well under a minute.

The drip method works fine but takes much longer and I don't normally have that much time so that's why I use a syringe. But you can fill anyway you want. If you order cartos from CCV, you get a free syringe so you could try it.
That syringe is what I use and it's perfect for filling.

I'd your also curious, the other method that someone else talked about above, the one where you use the rubber caps to fill with is called the condom method. You can go on YouTube and watch videos to see how to do it.
The condom method works fine but I find it to be sometimes alittle messy. Also it doesn't work well with bigger cartos, and I use the ressurectors, which are bigger so I find the syringe to work the best.
You can fill any method you'd like. All three work.

Sorry I didn't give more detailed instructions for the syringe filling. I'm writing this on an iPhone so that's why I didn't put more detail. If your confused on anything or have any questions let me know and I'll explain in much more detail and give you some tips.

Hope this helped tho
Goodluck!
