According to the experts here, you do not need to inhale to absorb the nicotine. The droplet size in vapor is too large for you to absorb it effectively in your lungs. I am repeating things I've read here on this forum and cannot vouch for their scientific validity on this matter.

Inhaling is dangerous, whether you're vaping or breathing. A recent study done by a university in California showed that breathing the outdoor air exposes you to much higher levels of toxic chemicals than vaping indoors does.

Not inhaling, however, is normally considered to be fatal for humans.

Make your own choices.

Cigarette smoke is composed of tiny particles of burned tobacco coated with nicotine (components of combustion) that can travel all the way out to the tiniest tubes in the lungs. Ecig Vapor is droplets of vaporized liquid that tend to coat the bronchial tubes, but most don't make it into the far reaches of the lungs, according to the studies we see.

I'm also repeating things I've read and heard. The most efficient way to get the nicotine when vaping is to mouth inhale, hold it for a few seconds, and then inhale just enough to be able to exhale through the nose. That way you expose more mucous membranes to the vapor. It's kind of a cigar or pipe smoking method.

Here's a good study that monitored thousands of vapers over a five year period. Down in the text you will find charts that show various chemicals found in ecig vapor, along with EPA limits for those. They also say that ecig vapor is as safe or safer than breathing air in a downtown location. The numbers compared to allowable limits by the EPA are far lower in almost if not all cases than the limits allowed.

Your lungs have an enormous surface area compared to your mouth (therefore more area with which to absorb nicotine) however it would almost certainly be healthier not to inhale so you could try using e-liquid with a higher nicotine content.

im using 24 mg which is the highest i can find. i still have to take 20-30 hits before i get the nic fix i can get with half a cigarette.

What kind of equipment are you using? If your vaping that much, with that little affect...... I'm at 12-14 with a Magma and 20-30 hit's would have me on my A**

There is 36 mg, just not everywhere carries it. I take as much into my mouth as I can, inhale after a moment, then exhale slowly through the nose, giving it more time to absorb. It's true the particles in vapor are much bigger, but inhaling will still affect you (in my experience). I find vaping is a more relaxed and time consuming activity than smoking cigarettes. While it's mostly the nicotine and other chemicals I feel from cigarettes, the actual act of vaping is something I find relaxing on its own.

If you want a stronger nicotine hit, keep using your 24 mg and vape using a rebuildable atomizer. Those give off way more vapor, especially once you crank up your power, or sub-ohm with a mech mod.

My advice is to get better gear. I used to feel the same when I was using clearomizer and a little self contained battery, stepping up to a good clearomizer with dule coils and decent airflow helped, but then I got into the wonderful world of rebuildable atomizers and that was what worked best for me, lots more vapor and flavor to boot! But if your not wanting a new hobby and/or a bunch of new homework to do try out something like an aspire nautilus or a kanger aero tank and get a battery that you can turn up the voltage/wattage on a lot of decent batteries like this are on the market these days for a reasonable price

Stealth vape a dripper. Take a long draw, hold ... hold some more ... keep holding ... now slowly exhale through your nose ... if you see vapor hold some more.

You'll get your nic fix that way, especially on 24mg/ml. I'd pass the .... out.

when you do it this way do you inhale?

my favorite smoke shop doesnt have the 36mg, but they have the 24s for so cheap, i havent really tried many other places. ive been trying different atomizers though and the lowest that will fit with my nautilus tank is 1.6 ohms

If I were you the first thing I would do is get a better battery, vaping sucked for me on egos before getting a VV mod to use with clearomizers - which was a MAJOR improvement as regular ego batteries drop in output while taking a drag and @ 1.6 ohms the heating time is going to be less than stellar.

Anyhoo, if I were you I'd invest in a VV/VW mod or even a mechanical before upping the Nicotine levels - my 2 cents

I dropped my nic level from 11mg to 6mg without noticing a difference after starting to use a Kayfun. Years ago I started with 24mg, dropped from 2 PAD down to 6 cigarettes a day in the first week, and was able to quit smoking those 6 a day after two years.

I thought I needed high nic, but dropping from 18mg to 11mg and then on to 6mg was uneventful. I really could have quit much sooner, but thought I would have withdrawal symptoms. That was fear only. I quit while vaping 24mg and went down after a while to lower and lower nic without cravings.

That's the beauty of vaping. You aren't getting freebased nicotine from the tobacco companies anymore once you put down the cigarettes. Ammonia and other chemicals added into tobacco by cigarette companies keeps you coming back for more. Get away from those and managing nicotine use is a piece of cake. You just lower the nic in your juice periodically until it's inconsequential.

I was in Stormy's Vapor Cellar a couple of weeks ago and Caroline let me try her HCigar DNA30 mod with a Nautilus mini. She had drilled out one of the air holes until it was almost like inhaling through a hose (no restriction). At 23.5 watts the vapor was cool and flavorful and after a few hits and blowing several clouds I could definitely feel the nic buzz. I think she said it was 6mg nic juice or some ridiculously low number. She had to drop the nic level to prevent OD'ing.
