This post is for those who use pre-filled cartomizers from blu and do not refill them.
It has been my experience that some Blu cartomizers seemed to be under filled. That is not the case, the problem is actually appearing to be more of a wicking issue and when those cartomizers that didnt last as long as others start to taste burnt, they are in fact still fairly full of liquid. I have purchased over 20 packs of cherry crush now and have been playing around with them a bit and have found this out.
I am now going to share with you all something I posted on the Blu Facebook discussion page about how to regain some of the unused liquid from the blu carts which you can then use to refill some of the carts. If you have a cart that didn't last very long I wouldn't recommend refilling that cart because it is probably going to still taste burnt/used up even after you fill it back up.
Ok here is a cut and paste of what I posted in the Blu Facebook Discussion Page.
Blu cartridge life is not what it is advertised to be for me and I do realize that the "puffs per cartridge", 'varies upon the user' but I find myself only getting maybe 125-150ish puffs per cartridge. I also have found that some cartridges do not seem to be as full as others. This is almost a definite as I have counted the number of equal size puffs I take on about 15 cartomizers, keeping a log of the counts and some carts barely lasted 50 puffs. That's a small percentage of them but it happens nonetheless, although my theory about the cart being under-filled may be wrong as it could also just be a defective cartomizer that isn't wicking the fluid to the atomizer coil properly.
Another thing I found out that is even after the cartomizer begins to taste burnt, which is when I stop using them, even though they are still producing vapor the taste is of burnt filler or something, that there can still be a significant amount of liquid left in the cartomizer that can be extracted and used to refill the cartomizers. Here's how I extract the left over liquid which can add up fast. If you go through a lot of Blu Cartomizer you may really want to consider trying this as it usually nets me a fair amount liquid which usually is enough to refill quite a few cartomizers. You can also use this method to retrieve the liquid from a defective cartomizer that doesn't work. I have only ever had 2 cartomizers not function and that was 2 out of over 20 boxes. One just didnt produce any vapor at all, and tested open on an ohm meter and the 2nd defective one was impossible to draw through, it was as if the intake holes in the bottom were plugged with something, but it was no biggie I just used the following method to retrieve the liquid from them.
I do not take complete credit for this cartomizer emptying method as I used a video from another guy and just located a cartomizer (joye306) that was the same size to purchase so I could get the little rubber condoms to use in this method. This method is called the "Reverse Taryn Spin" and can be seen here at youtube. Reverse Taryn Spin - YouTube
And finally after my long winded post here is the method.
1: Use the 'condom', rubber cover thing, from a Joye 306 cartomizer, which is very close to the same size as the Blu cartomizer but I don't recommend using this 306 cartomizer with the BLU as it seemed to kill the battery faster and some of them didn't work right, but the condom thing works great for this method.
Take this condom and put it onto the mouth end of the BLU cartomizer after popping the black plastic cap off the blu cartomizer. You only need to slide it on the blu cartomizer about 1/8-1/4 ".
2: Place the Blu Cartomizer with the condom installed into the corner of a Ziploc bag with the condom/mouth piece side end down into the corner of the bag. Roll the bag up so it is jut now a long rolled back that rolled around the cartomizer. Attach a string to the opposite end of the bag and then use the string the swing the cartomizer/bag around in a big circle. The idea here is you want to use gravity and centripetal force to make the liquid be pulled from the cartomizer and into the condom you put on the end of the cartomizer. You probably want to use a string that's about 3+ feet in length to swing this thing around, obviously the longer the string the bigger the circumference of the circle it's spinning in and the greater the force acting upon the liquid contained in the cartomizer to pull it out into the condom thingy. mm thingy gotta love that word. Swing it around for about 10-20 seconds
4: Collect the liquid you have now filled the condom piece with, with a syringe.
5: Refill an empty Blu cartomizer and enjoy your salvaged liquid.
I find on average when i do this to about 4 packs of depleted cartomizers, and by depleted I mean once they started to taste slightly burnt I'm able to regain approx 6+ML/CC, sometimes even way more if I had a few cartomizers that just didnt seem to last long at all, (this further makes me suspect it may not be a matter of under-filling and more-so an issue of poor wicking within the cartomizer itself) of liquid to be used to refill Blu cartos back up.
Sorry for this extremely long post but i had a lot to say and I thought maybe it could help a few people out to get the most out of their Blu cartomizers, and I'm also hoping Blu will consider bulk sales with some nice discounts to us heavy vapers that are buying cartomizers religiously from Blu. See my Topic here on this subject and comment please if you would like to see Blue gives us better bulk pricing.
