Remember guys, the majority of this generation saw the Berlin wall fall. We saw Nelson Mandela overturn the white minority in SA and Aungsan Sukyi liberated! We travelled from the acceptance of slavery to the age of internet freedom!

In 1989 Aung san su kyi was leading a group of pro democracy protesters when soldiers lined up, aimed their rifles and threatened to fire. She walked on....

The banning of chewing gum and e-cigs is nothing compared to most of the struggles this last 30 years.

So like the song my favorite band U2 sings in honor of this very brave lady..... WALK ON!

Eh I love U2 as well! Oh by the way...

Just think about the dollar effect after vaping turns legal. Don't expect things to be cheaper, maybe even more expensive. I have a long chain of reasons why it may or may not legal, done a bit of calculations. Therefore may or may not be more expensive. But it did be nice to Singapore smoke free and quit using something that actually works, rather than something that doesn't work. It was statistically proven in some of the threads.

Only 2 things are certain my friend, death and taxes. Oh I forgot.... wee arrr noot friends!!!! YOU are the MENTHOL MAN!:D

Haha. But look at it this way Mr I do, therefore I am. We adapt, we've adapted so far, we will adapt no matter what. Therefore according to the Darwinian theory of "survival of the fittest", we are survivors.

Let the gov go through the show, we will adapt.

Which leads to another problem which the government have to solve again; contraband electronic cigarette. Therefore, if I were the government. Given the fact that the government are paying for a lot of things we do not know of, the problems it result from, I think this the illegal vaping scene is going to be kept going on for quite some time.

At least not for the next 5 years; if you read business news and know how to interpret, then most predict that there is going to be a recession next year or next 2 years. And for it to stabilize again, then maybe about 1-2 more years. Then when the younger and more open-minded generation start to grow up and step in, then maybe a lot of things will be legal. Like gay marriage, ........., vaping and having cycle paths along the roadsides. But for now, I guess things are not going to change because of the economy.

Sadly.

ah cycling paths, i myself do cycle. and as much as i wld love to see roads marked out for cyclist here, i dun think thats kinda really possible with the space constrains we face. its a hard truth that we have to face. and what more the CBD area is already so jammed packed with buildings. mana ada space to make cycling paths? it wld be a whole revamp of the roads. possible, but not really realistic.

face it, we're a small country. cant expect everything, have to live within our means. unless of course part of up north belongs to us somehow one day...HAHAHAHAH

I am sure you've put in some thought to this bro, but the gov has been putting in fiscal policies to ramp up spending for quite some time now. Revamps to MRT, roads and HDB new units might just seem like a move to appease angry Singaporeans but look at it closely. The nature and scope of the works involved. Construction has been our gov's traditional tool for injecting funds into the economy.

Our monetary policy has always been spot on. Cheap interbank rates has always ensured good availability of investment funds.

Our tax on analogs per year come to be about 1 Billion sing dollars, actually 900m++ but close. The amount of money lost by Tem... holdings far exceed that. Amount collected from ERP together with COE exceeds that, pay of ministers combined exceeds that, Defence budget WAY WAY exceeds that.

But you are right, they will hold the status quo for quite a while. Look at chewing gum. 20 years and still counting. I was a teenager when they imposed the ban. Now I am twice more teenager then any teenager!

See in the states the FDA(by order of court) does not have direct control of e-cigs. I think one of the major problems is that now vendors like Halo can come about and say they will not disclose their e-juice content because its trade secret. How you know its not some $h!t you vaping? Secret this, secret that.

If proper legislature is imposed, we would not have that. We would be 100% assured we know what goes into our juice and subsequently our body. That's important in vaping isn't it?

Also with no control over the devices actually come more opportunities of abuse. Both from the manufactures (no prevailing standards, food safe plastics, batteries explode etc), and from the users (experimentation as delivery device for other "stuff")

I am all for proper control of e-cigs in SG. But if it cannot be done properly, don't do it at all.
