Hi all,

Firstly, I'm from New Jersey which is something I forgot to mention before. Several b&m shops in central NJ which is great. Just wondering if you have some advice on how often you should clean your tanks and the best method for doing this? Somewhere I read about soaking in vodka and don't know if this is correct.
Thanks for your help.

Best, Ginny

All I've ever done is a simple hot water bath for my tanks and when I was trying to clean the coil heads out before I started rebuilding them, I would run them under some hot water and do a dry burn to the point that all the coils were glowing red and there was no gross smell or vapor coming off of them anymore. PG and VG are water soluble and they will easily be flushed out with some hot water. Just make sure you put the sink stopper down when you are doing it or you may lose some of the little pieces associated with your tank.

I have heard that soaking your heads in some high proof alcohol will help clean them out but I never did that, I just used the hot water.

I clean my copper with lemon juice. And polish my mods with a drill and some cape cod wipes. I have tried buffing wheels and jewelers rouge, but the drill + cape cod method is so much easier and I get the best results this way.

Dripping is more advanced and requires building coils. It produces far greater flavor and vapor than any tank-based atomizer though.

I clean my tank when I change juice. About each 15ml. I fully disassemble, rinse under hot water, put the pieces in a bowl of 80% water/20% vinegar for an hour and then rince under the hottest faucet water I can. I have to use a needle-nosed pliers to hold the pieces. Then I put the parts on a paper towel to air dry. Since this process take 24 hours or so, I have a lot of tanks.

With all this in consideration, I use about 5 tanks at a time, since I don't vape one flavor at a time. Currently, I use Nautilus tanks with the Bottom Vertical Coil (BVC).

Hope helps

Hi All,

Thank you for your response to my questions and for just being there. I really enjoy vaping although once in a blue moon I think about having a analog. Have had a puff or two but end up just putting it out. It's been about a year perhaps a little more. Enjoy all your stories and just looking through the forum.
Funny, when I see someone smoking I just want to go up to them and suggest they give vaping a try. I think some people are more concerned with vaping than smoking which I find hard to believe. :-( Do you know if any of the "Stop Smoking Groups" out there advise people to try e cigarettes or vaping rather than the Nicotrol Inhaler?
All the best and thank you again, Ginger

I have done both hot H20 & alcohol [PGA- Everclear]. Even when things don't appear very dirty the little dish I use for PGA always turns brown/black, so it must be getting stuff off.
I always clean any new tanks/clearos before use to rid of anything nasty. Nothing grosser than a nice big hit of burning machine oil.

Good luck & hope that helps.

i usually clean out my tank when it is near empty or when i want to change liquids. generally i will take it completely apart and rinse in hot water and then wipe down all surfaces with qtips. Then i let it sit overnight and alway use a new atomizer with each liquid, because they are cheap (kanger mini protank 3 atomizers). other people will soak in vodka overnight, i haven't tried this method yet
