How to make a sale??

How does one go about making a sale? Obviously you would state what you are selling, but what about shipping and receiving payment, without using paypal or anything similar?? Thanks.

Paypal is the most secure way to send/receive payments... it's best for both the buyer and the seller. Some people here on ECF use postal money orders, but those are people that have been around the site for a while and are trusted. Are you the buyer or the seller? If you're the seller and you absolutely can't/wont use paypal, make sure you have the money in your hand before you ship anything out... If you're the buyer, then be certain that the person to whom you're sending the "other means of payment" is trustworthy...

As far as shipping, USPS has served me well for a while... make sure it's packed well and if it's a big-ticket item, you may want to consider insuring it...

I would be the seller. I assume the postal money order would be made out to my name.

I have bought and sold with both PayPal and Postal Money orders. I have a few times even sent the item I was selling on a trial basis. (This was to long standing ECF members) I have only been burnt two times, and it was when I was the buyer.
The last time I cashed a PO Money Order, I was told that they are the most counterfeited. So if you are accepting them as payment, you should wait until you cash it before you send the item out unless you trust the buyer.
