A google search for Canadian suppliers of nicotine & flavorings gave me these two links.
For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum. Lots of great info in all the "stickies". Below is the information I often give to members new to DIY.
  • Dannyv45's blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice. => dannyv45 - Blogs
  • Hoosier's blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives. =>Hoosier - Blogs
  • For a juice mixing calculator consider using eJuiceMeUp
Here are some threads you may like to read through for different flavoring companies. Many of the posts include recipes and comments about a specific flavor.

Steve, Anything new seems complicated. Creating recipes is a bit complicated hence following an exsisting recipe is the way to start or at least that worked for me. Just play with the %'s after the first mix to bring out the flavours in the mix that you like.
Google and Youtube are the way if you don't know anyone doing DIY. That's how I started. I watched many vid's showing people mixing and that helped me make the decision to mix with a scale. I knew how to use a scale;) and syringes just seemed way too complicated and messy, I only use a syringe for nicotine. I also am a decent cook so was used to following a recipe. I read countless recipes on DIY juice sites I googled. Find a couple simple recipes to start with not something with a dozen flavours and six different creams.
Play around with a juice calculator and just enter the amounts from a few recipes to get familar with it. Then change the vg/pg ratio just to notice the changes, do the same with nicotine %'s, have some fun with it. Read through blogs and the recipe threads here on ecf until the terminology starts making sense. I was pretty nervous about getting the nicotine levels correct and still pay particular attention to that aspect
Time takes time........... but if you spend the time learning to mix you will be much rewarded besides just saving a few bucks. But that's the catch, you will have to put the time in reading, researching and watching videos until it starts to make sense and it will.

Have fun, its a great hobby.

Just an FYI you don't know what Guzzling is but you will when you get the Uwell Crown! Don't get me wrong I love my Uwell Crowns I have 2 of them & are great tanks but they do go through Juice like it is going out of style so DIY is a wise choice. Once you make a couple mixes you will see it is not as hard as it sounds to make & is pretty fun making your own concoctions

Steve I forgot to say their vg is very good. I was turned off high vg as a brand of premixed I bought to try 30pg/70vg left an oily taste and residue in my mouth. Their vg has converted me to 30/70 though a bit longer steep than 50/50 and a couple recipes I had to rework to get a similar taste to my 50/50.

I know this thread is ancient but I had to comment for the folks who stumble upon it like I did. 93gc40 is so right. My ADV setup has been a Reuleaux DNA200, Steam Crave 6ml tank with SS316L clapton coils that I bought pre-made off of Fleabay wicked with Muji cotton. For me, after 5 years and a thousand or two dollars, I finally thought I had found nirvana. Was goofing off in my LVS today and a gal rolled in with a 1.8 ohm triton mini clapton coil in a Nautilus at 15 watts and she let me taste it. Mind blown. I went outside cuz I was so sick to my stomach that such a low wattage cheap set-up like that could produce that flavor. MTL not straight lung though. While not as good as my setup IMO still VERY VERY good at pennies on the dollar compared to what I've spent. And use that little of juice. Now officially rethinking everything I thought I knew about vaping.

I can understand your fustration between expensive hardware and cheap hardware, Complex builds and simple builds. I myself spent thousands on hardware, DYI supplies and spent countless hours of experimentation only to come to the same conclusion as yours. I've used authentic hardware, clone hardware, Premium hardware and bargen basement closeout hardware. I've had some of my best luck with cheap clones and rushed builds which have caused me to change my thinking many many times.

The only conclusion that sticks with me is you don't have to spend a small fortune to have a great vaping experience.

Uwell Crown, TFV4, Alantis V2, Herakles Plus, Kanger subtank. They all drink the juice. have tried or bought just about every sub-ohm Clearmizer tank, hate them all. What finally worked for me was a Kayfun lite plus. Yes your not going to be blowing huge clouds, but the flavor is insane. A tank full will last me 3 days since I also drip.
If you want to see someone run you through the step of to DIY check out Fresh03 on youtube. He's come up with some great recipes, plus he's a hoot to watch :)

Yep can't agree more. I use the 5-pawns kayfun mini 3.5ml clone and it works great, No leaks, easy to to build, has good taste delivery and vapor production and best of all it's not built like crap..

You're not the only one! A Kayfun Nano is one of my all day tanks! It used to be IBTankeds but cartos are so hard to find now I'm saving my last 20 boxes for the Vapocolypse! Barring those there is no better tootle puffer tank for flavor than a properly built Kayfun!
