Mine and hubbies does the same thing. I checked all my settings are set to never and it still happens. Sometimes it doesn't happen all day others even within a min or 2 of my last hit. I have the latest firmware and just assume its a bug in the firmware. Mine is fully powering off not just going into sleep.

Could also happen when you set your evic down or in your pocket. If you drop it/shake it/rattle it hard enough, it will compress the spring and break contact from your battery to the control head for a split second, which is the same as turning it off.

If it is just going into sleep mode and you don't have to power it on, I honestly don't know what to say. I have the latest firmware, and my evic hasn't done that to me since I got it back in June.

Good point. I know I'm not accidently doing anything to the fire button but just getting bumped or waived around could be enough to loose contact with the spring. Gonna clean it all up n make sure my spring is a tight fit.

Edit: also removed the plastic spacer between the head and battery tube. Maybe its preventing good contact.

After some messing around it is the spring. At first i tried bumping it from all directions and with a hard enough bump it would shut off. After pulling the spring a bit it only happens with a hard thump on the bottom.
I assume the spring is too soft to completely fix it. So when you bump it hard enough the spring is compressing from weight of the battery and loosing connection with the top. It's much better now but I doubt it can be totally fixed unless you put a stiffer spring in.
I'm just glad to discover its not firmware.

I really don't know which I have or how to tell. I purchased mine in early summer. I have used the original battery and the green 3400 mah. All connections are tight. I did a visible test with the battery and end cap and the spring compresses when the bottom is hit under the weight of the battery. That is how it looses connection and power. It's not as bad after stretching the spring but my assumption is a stiffer spring would eliminate the issue.

Look at the top of your evic, near the ego threads. Are there 2 metal screws between the ego threading and the top cap? If there are, it's a version 2, if not, version 1. Cheers!
