Congratulations on quitting smoking!

Don’t mean to be snarky, rude, discouraging, whatever (just trying to save you the heartache), but if you quit vaping in the near future you’ll likely go back to smoking sooner or later. In the years that I’ve been here, I’ve seen it happen to many, many people. The smart ones come back to ECF, admit their boo-boos and carry on with tremendous support from the crew here. Honestly, the people here are are your biggest cheerleaders.

However, you didn’t ask for a lecture, you asked for advice.

Reduce your nic by 1mg or less and vape until you adjust to it. You will likely vape more for a several days until you get used to it. Stay there for a bit and then reduce the nic again and keep repeating until you are a 0mg. Then wean yourself off the hand to mouth habit. Hopefully the whole process will go smoothly for you with no hiccups.

When you do quit, do not throw your gear and juice (with some nic in it) away. Why? It will serve as a mental crutch and if you do find yourself overwhelmed with the desire for a cigarette, your old gear will be there to see you through it. Many people have said quitting and going back to vaping is harder the second time around.

I sincerely wish you excellent results in your endeavor. I wish I could stop vaping—love it but it can be a hassle at times—but am sane enough to realize I’ll never do well off of it.

Good luck to you! :)

I've quit tobacco many times over the past years. longest I went was 3 months on the patch. only when I started vaping I could finally quit. it's been over a year now and I still get the cravings for a smoke or dip. try to get down to 0 nic before you do anything that could possibly put you back on the smokes. I wish you the best of luck and come back here with your insight when you finally do quit vaping and smoking. sorry there isn't more info on quitting vaping, most of us here are more concerned about not blowing smoke.

It has been 1,5 months since i quit smoking. I have been vaping for 1,5 months. I consume 10-12 ml e-liquid per day, 6 mg nicotine, directly to lung. I also want to give up vaping. How should be the schedule? I need a plan. I need your advices.

    Thank you.

This is different for everyone, there is no one schedule or one method that would work for all.

It took me almost a year and a half to get over the last of my cigarette pangs. By that time I had been vaping no nicotine for about nine months. A year later and I could have given up vaping fairly easily I think but I chose not to.

So in my opinion it all depends on how you're doing with not smoking and how much you want to quit vaping. You could try reducing nic intake in steps, try reducing the amount you vape, or a combination of the two. You might try vaping flavors that don't appeal as much to you, reduce power settings, put your vape gear out of easy reach after 5 minutes of vaping, etc. If you make changes too fast you might experience setbacks, but I'm sure you'll figure it out as you go and deal with it.

Best of luck with it and let us know how it goes :thumb:

I have been vaping for almost 7.5 years.

The first 6.5 years I was vaping 12mg strength liquid.
Then one day I went straight to zero nicotine, and have been doing that for almost a year now.

    As for quitting vaping?
I guess I'd need to cut off my hands.
