I've seen many people asking about vaping on a plane, and while it is courteous to ask the flight attendant, you will likely be rejected if you ask permission. It looks like smoke, and I firmly believe the air marshal sitting a few rows back will shoot you in the face when he sees what looks like a plume of smoke rising from a passenger.

So, I made a quick clip demonstrating how to avoid this plume. Simple and straight forward.

You pull the vapor into your mouth, take a deep breath, and hold it briefly, releasing the button before you stop inhaling. It all (or most of it) sticks to your lungs, resulting in little to no exhale cloud. I demonstrate this twice with a long drag (the only vapor you see is me showing that I actually did activate it), then the third is a brief puff to show how much vapor was being produced with no inhale.

It's all in the liquid. Some liquids completely defy this type of stealth attempt, you'd have to hold your breath for 30 seconds or more, and I still get vapor, and who wants to do that? We need a stealth liquid. Ruyan makes one in the Jazz line, and Dekang makes a liquid that is actually stealthy, but it's hard to find. That's why I'm trying to get a US juice manufacturer to investigate what it would take to develop such a liquid for this kind of situation.

With my 510 I can produce a ton of vapor in one vape and show no signs of it the very next one.

Just take in about half of what you would normally take into your mouth, release the button while slowly removing your lips from the cart and still vaping lightly to get any leftover, then take it all into your lungs deeper than normal. Hold it for about 5 seconds then release it faster than normal. With a little practice you can do it if you just adjust to a smaller vape and still get your fix.

At least that's what works for me.

I've been stealth vaping for a long time now - depending on the locale or situation I might be in.

One thing I've noticed is that when I do hold the vapor in my lungs long enough to eliminate visible vapor on exhale, I feel the nicotine more. That's a good thing, because if I'm going stealth because of being, for example, on a airplane, this tactic also allows me to more or less comfortably prolong the duration between puffs. :)

I also stealth vape all the time, including on long haul flights. I've used the pen cap over the LED with no problems, or just cupped my hand over the end.

There are actually several breathing techniques that have worked for me:

1) Deep vape inhale, close mouth and hold breath for about 20 seconds; perfectly effective but not exactly a relaxing way to vape. The length of time you have to hold your breath depends on how big a draw you've taken.

2) Deep vape inhale, close mouth, take a series of controlled, shallow breaths in and out through the nose for about 15 seconds. As effective as 1) and somewhat more relaxing; any vapor that does escape from your nostrils is very inconspicuous.

3) Deep vape inhale, close mouth, cover lower face with hand (as if scratching your nose) and exhale very slowly through nostrils. The position of your hand should funnel any vapor inconspicuously downwards, but the very slow exhale seems to be the key. This is probably the most "natural" and relaxing option.

I work for a very prominent cellular phone company in a kiosk in the middle of a mall. More often than not, I take a break, and vape away to my heart's delight in a bathroom or even outdoors (the fresh air is real nice, even if the east coast is cold as heck right now.)

But there are many times where I am left alone for 2 or more hours, and instead of leaving the kiosk for 5 minutes (like I did on analogs), I just pull the hold the vapor in longer than normal, slowly exhale through nose method. Not even the people who basically stare at me every day have noticed anything.

My commission checks have doubled.

Have you been hassled at airport security about your PV? Last thing I want is to take my pv with me just to have it confiscated.

I had one found in my jacket at x-ray. They didn't know what it was. When I told them the TSA agents asked me where they could buy one. Gave it back and I continued on my trip.

One trick I like is to take a drag, then lift up a coffee cup to my lips and exhale. Looks like steam. I've even vaped during business meetings (they can go all day) sitting around a table, with no one the wiser.

irllol.

i haven't had any problems with stealthing at all... i use basically the same method, but i also take a smaller drag, and inhale some clear air 'on top' of the vape to dilute anything that would be visible on exhale. no difficulty, but i have other friends who have a hard time with it.

I stelth vape more often then not, even in public.

I don't like the extra attention the LED brings sometimes, however I love it when I want to show off.

My solution is to hold my PV in my sleeve of my shirt with my hand completly covering the PV itself. It seems that I am just resting my hand on my chin or scrathing my beard. Take a puff and right before you end your drag, open up your mouth a little to vacume up any stray vape as the atty cools down. Hold it in my lungs for 10 seconds and exhale out the nose so it blows fast and downwards (less noticable).
