When it hits 75 the air conditioning gets turned on.. lol

When it's 120+ in the shade outside here the A/C is only a hint of relief. A floor fan with as little clothing as you can get away with helps the A/C some. It's easy to dress for cold, but in Sin City you undress for hot during the long summers. Trade off is the mild winters here where I can continue to wear my normal year-round 'outdoor' attire... shirt sleeves, shorts and the sandals only when I go out to run errands. I've lived on the Mojave Desert for 26 years now, and don't even own any long pants or socks anymore, nor a coat. IOW, I only dress very casual and comfortable now days no matter what's on the agenda.

I store my VG/PG in my closet. I keep my flavors in the fridge although I have heard from experienced DIY that this is not necessary, and it can actually be preferable to store at room temp, but "room temp" in Tucson is pretty hot. So, I decided to use the fridge for my flavors, but I think my house is usually cool enough to keep my VG/PG out, I just keep it dark and try for as cool as I can get. They really don't need to be refrigerated at normal temperatures I just worry a bit about my flavors.

How long do you have VG and PG for? I've been taking room up in the fridge with VG & PG, have about a years worth of VG and 4 to 6 months of PG. Can you leave them out for that long without a problem? Sure would like to have more room in the Ref if I could.

For what its worth, I purchased 3 gallons of VG and 1 gallon of PG, about 2 1/2 years ago. They have been stored in a dark cool linen closet since I received them. I am about 2/3 of the way through them and they taste just the same as the day I bought them.:D

Don't make it harder than it is please.
Store your flavs in a dark cool place. I put my flavs in a box, then put the box in my closet. Same with PG/VG.
Try to keep your nic stored in bottles filled up to the top. If you need to, transfer some nic from a bigger bottle to others, smaller ones. That prevents the nic from oxidizing, as there is no much oxygen between your nic and the top of the bottle. Happy mixing.

Where I am it hits about 80f in the house most days even with the air conditioner on, I have a dark place in the room that is the coolest, but I know the room never drops below 25c during the day. Is that too warm?

The nic I put into 15ml & 20ml LDPE and just pull one out a couple of hours before I need it.

My environment sounds a little bit kinder. I doubt my linen closet ever gets above 70F/21C. Does it make a difference? I am not smart enough to offer any sort of an intelligent opinion.

The PG and VG stay in the 1 gallon jugs; and I just fill up 8 ounce dispensing bottles as needed. I am not concerned about headspace.

For nic, on the other hand; I agree that minimizing oxygen exposure, by controlling headspace, is a prudent idea. My nic (other than the current working bottle) is the only DIY component I keep in the freezer.

LDPE plastic is probably the least ideal choice of container (for long-term storage); as it is the most permeable to air (of LDPE, HDPE, and PET). PET isn't recommended for repetitive use. HDPE bottles are not easy to find. Glass is the most popular choice; because it is easy to find, comes in all popular sizes, and when properly capped, is nearly impervious to air. For future nic purchases; I would suggest considering glass.

I bought a case of 12 2oz and a case of 12 4oz glass Boston Rounds a couple of years ago. My mixes are done in those bottles just because I can monitor color and clarity easily in glass. Each DIY session I pour what's left of those into LDPE to free up the glass for the next batch. The only reason I have any LDPE bottles at all is for the thin tips to fill Kayfun attys.

I like the new top fill atomizers that work with dropper bottles. As I transition to that style, LDPE may go away.

I am not sure what the more popular flavor makers suggest but Walt from RF said his super concentrates have a shelf life of 12 - 18 months at 'room temp' and 3 - 4 years if stored in a fridge. He also said they should never be froze as some can separate and become unusable.

Good to know I guess I’ll be using the bottom drawer in my fridge for the larger bottles of concentrates that I won’t need for awhile. I’ll be using most of my others waaaay before 12-18 months!!!!
