Hi guys, I've not been around for a while and I just happened across a thread about stacking batts being a bit unsafe. It hadn't been an issue I saw mentioned back when I was frequenting the site so I had a question.

I'm using a VV Ali'i (not yet but it will be repaired) and a red sky VV box mod (purchased second hand on here almost a year ago). So just to be safe how do I know if I need IMR high drains or if I can use the lower amperage protected Li-Ions (at least from what I remember that's the difference, the amperage)? I'd like to be as safe as possible here. I vape 2 ohm Vapage hybrid atties (and soon a Phoenix rebuildable) and I'm not positive of the voltage but I'm pretty sure I'm not breaking 5v.

Also, even if I'm not using something that requires high drain batts is it an issue if I still use them? I got kinda freaked out reading about this battery stacking thing as it wasn't something I'd ever seen back when I was first on the site all the time (right around the time IMR batts were first being stocked on ecig websites). I have a set of each and use them both and I have used the IMR set until my mod doesn't hit anymore so now I'm scared that I could have hurt myself by over-discharging them because I actually have had 2 IMR batts stop working on me and need to be thrown away (1 batt on 2 sets).

I know the basics about checking voltage (which, to be quite honest, I haven't ever really done) and switching batts each time they're put into a device but I was under the impression that, even though IMR batts don't have a protection circuit, if they were run out they stopped working before they were over-discharged.

Thank you for any help and insight you can offer. I'm due for a couple new sets of cr123 and 18350 and gotta figure out if I'm getting Li-Ion or IMR
