I was wondering about something similar to this as well. Kicking around the idea of turning an old cell phone/battery into an ecig. Havent done much research on the specs of the cell battery I have yet, id think that would be the first place to start. Compare the specs of my cell battery to that of a traditional ecig battery. Im quite interested in reading the replies on this thread!

I had to google 13000maH Powerbank to find out what it was.
Surely the simplest answer is this.....

The main thing you need to think about is how much amperage the battery can take. Our PV's draw a lot of energy from a battery pretty quickly, especially when we start messing with low ohm applications. For instance, my 18650 IMR battery is rated at 10 amps. Since cell phones are not designed for heavy amperage drain, I would think they would not be suitable to use in a PV. I could be wrong though.

There are some battery geeks running around here somewhere that should chime in soon.

After reading this question I took a look at quite a few power banks online and have come to the conclusion that making one into an e-cig would probably not be a very good idea. As another poster mentioned they can probably not handle the amperage required to vape and also I couldn't find too many with specs but what I did find led me to believe that power banks do not contain high drain or safer chemistry batteries. It would probably work but not very well and would more than likely result in battery failure.

The thing about power banks is they are designed to provide about 1 to 1.5A (at best 2A) of current to charge cell phones. That's what usually written in the description but in real life they don't provide that much current anyway. At least mine doesn't. So in my view it couldn't possibly be a good idea to attach a sub ohm or even 2 ohm coil to it and let it heat. Potentially explosive substance (and a lot of it 13k mah) in a sealed enclosure and causing it to heat up by drawing more current than it can handle......getting the picture?..

BTW, I do use my power bank to charge my evic sometime..

There was a discussion on the Fasttech forums. As long as your ouput is greater than 2A you seem to be ok.

As long as the atomizer resistance is above 2 Ohms that's true, but drop below that and the battery can't safely supply the current.

Think Ohms law:

Voltage divided by resistance equals current draw.
