How to unsubscribe from a thread forever?

dragon, the reonaut thread i posted in hung on for dear life - close to 4 months, if i remember right! and my post count is not on the light side
don't worry - i'm sure there is no connection between ''my posts'' and ''my recent posts'' found in the profile settings.

Hehe, only notice YOUR post count now - quite extraordinary ! OK, I will believe you, and trust that one day, (in the not tooooooooo distant future) I will no longer see anything about lava tank auctions, box mod new color range or KBV orders and shipping lists. I think that day will be like Christmas!

right liscab, the default search cuts off at 1K posts and the whats new is limited to 525. More than enough for the average user and setting them higher would create performance issues. I won't even go into other reasons why, but anyone that has experience with maintaining PHP/MYSQL sites will immediately think of suhosin...

For you information I can tell you Tiburonfirst has probably more than 35 000 posts just that the posts on the outside dont count ,but they are there

Lol!!! Are you saying that I need to have 1000 posts before the active threads stop refreshing in MY POSTS? Don't know what on earth I will find to blab on about and where to find the time and energy....
But even if I did.....
Where is the connection? I don't see it. Another thing is that you have more thank a 1000 posts, so why isn't it working for you ?

My 1000th post ago was late September. The list holds just under 1000 posts.

It's not the post total, it is what the system is keeping track of in your "Find latest posts" in your profile. Somehow that list is connected. Your list goes back to 2009 and you aren't close to 1000, mine goes back to September, and Whiskey's goes back to Feb 15th because she posts 1000 a week or so.

If seems too much of a coincidence My Post threads drop off just as posts drop off in the My Recent Posts list in my profile. It seems it searches through 1000 of your most recent posts to make up the My Posts thread list.

My Posts is reachable faster under "What's New" and some, like me, never bothered to learn to set up and find subscriptions properly.
