How US Suppliers are letting us all down

PM me. I will add you to the list. We have an upcoming meeting April 11th-12th in Chicago where we are going to form the actual association, then, we will post information on becoming a member in the Suppliers Private Forum here on ECF.

And if we don't want to be part of an association? Can we still play?
No. I have been in sales my whole life, and I must say the only reason I would meet up with the competition is for some friendly war games or paint ball or something. I think the reality is everyone who is a businessman in this business knows quite well, or at least should, what the next steps are, and don't need to form another group to do it.
I am in the process of the following changes by the end of the month:
-Warning labels and directions on all e-liquids.
-An attached pharmacy type sheet within my small liquid boxes that contain the labeled bottles of liquid, and explain all the cautions, dangers, and proper handling needed along with a list of all ingredients
-Safety caps is certainly an option, however, there are currently no safety caps on ANY and I mean ANY other over the counter Nicotine products! If a kid wants to eat an entire package of Nicorette gum because his Dad left it out, well who do you think the blame should be on?

Nope, it is certainly one thing to add safety measures to these products, and I agree fully with that! It is needed.
It is, however, quite another thing to actually think that A business owner like myself has to join a club to decide how to run their business.
Come on people. Be professional. Just sell your products, do the needed research, product testing, and legal updates needed, and help your customers to live a better lifestyle!
That's why I got into the business, to help and listen to customers.
Are you actually suggesting that we have to join a private club to participate here?
Let me make sure I have this, I need to join a private club and follow whatever rules this club decides is appropriate in order to be accepted?

Hmmm...I thought we were trying to fight the FDA, not become them?
And please don't be afraid of words like Healthy! What, do you think we should say, ya your right, its not a healthy alternative, its a ...hmmm what does the FDA want me to say?
Come on people. This is America! It still means last I checked that you can do whatever you believe in the way you want to as long as you obey the law, which so far we are doing!
There are plenty of suppliers who use these words in one form or another and everyone knows it! just check some labels and sites.
So everyone calm down and run your business and help your customers!

To KDmickey who started this thread. I have removed those claims along time ago, and I asked you nicely to remove my name from that least, but for some reason you seem to not care. We even put a warning category, so we are going far and beyond to let people know this is not meant for quiting, or any health advatages. Why son't you look at the site now, so you can see it for yourself. When we first opened we did not know about the cause, and once we found out we imidiately made changes, so I don't understand why you refuse to remove our name from your list.

If you want to post the truth, why don't you go to our site and see the truth for yourself. We opened for 3 days, and you put us on the all time lose list for making health claims. I think there were many more companies that we around that were making the same claims far before we came along, so report the truth which is, We make no such claims, and have warning now on our site.

Thank you for taking measures to improve the accuracy of your site. I apologize, but I can no longer edit my original post. Nonetheless, you deserve recognition for taking an effort to benefit us all.

AMEN BROTHA! And to skyrl that spoke their mind as well... I'm not a supplier.. wanted to be one at one point, but I have another business I tend to and do not have the time..

I just wanted to add my 2 cents.. Why would anyone have to fly to where ever to meet up.. what about the ones that can not do this financially or even physically for that matter... why not keep it in an open forum for all to see.. suppliers are not the only ones that come to this forum, people like me the user/customer come here as well to read up in issues, law changes, etc. hoping that this wonderful little miracle they call an ecig does not get banned (Or should I say liquid with nicotine.. sorry)

I really think this should be out in the open.. if you keep it "PRIVATE" you will have suspicions and people raising an eyebrow wondering what is going on in there... so what if the FDA or the FEDs/Gov come here and read it.. isn't that what we want? Don't we want everyone to hear what we all need and want to say? We are all members in this... we do not need to split up a fine group that we have now into this illuminati/BigBrother type thing.. we are all tired of that.. if you want your little organization keep it to yourself and not publicly have it in a public forum for all to wonder... lol think about it..

It is interesting that you talk of the FDA but it is apparent you have absolutely no idea what the rules are. They have every right to assert powers over "health", "quit", "safe". They do not have the right at assert power over nicotine.

And as far as the association is concerned... This isn't a private club and any supplier who wants to participate is welcome to join. Are you going to have to follow some simple basic rules to keep your business within the law? Yep. Sorry. You will. Are we going to require you not to make unfounded health claims? Yep. Sorry. We will.

I have kept quiet on a large portion of your posts as I figured your heart is in the right place and you truly do wish to help others find a better alternative to smoking. I have been nice about your apparent attempts to "scare" yourself up some business. I will not sit back quietly and allow you to speak negatively over the one chance this industry has of banding together and fighting for our rights to continue offering our customers an alternative to smoking.

If you don't want to participate, that's fine. Don't. You are always welcome but you will in fact, have to play by the rules. There are lots of benefits of us getting together as a group and if you do not see them, then that is your issue, not ours.

We understand your concerns. We have had free of charge, no commitment necessary, skype conference calls twice a week for over a month. Anyone who wanted to participate was more than welcome and an open invitation to suppliers was presented in the suppliers private forum.

At this time, the association is made of those who are involved in the trade. We are planning on several projects that would include users of the ecig but haven't put any final projects in place as this weekend is the forming of the association. If you have suggestions, please feel free to let us know!

If you are looking to participate in a group, Right To Vape - Index is an outstanding place to start.

I totally agree with Lacey. When I wrote that post, I really didn't know the "truth", but now my thoughts have changed. I can see you are passionate about what you believe in, but it can't be like the wild west. There has to be some sort of order, especially in our industry, or else every Tom, and Jack ( Those names are examples, I am not referring to anyone here) would come in, open a shop, make crazy allegations, and then it would just make us all look bad. In every type of industry there are standards to follow, for safety, and false representation, that's why the FDA and FTC were created in the first place, and the only way we are going to have an everlasting future is by establishing the same.
