How do i calculate the amount of nicotine i am ingesting? i did read the article BrotherBob linked for me, it is in my last post. But i must digress to being unable to acquire a valid sum. Any help in this matter would be superb indeed. TY
It's difficult to know for certain. We know that the nicotine isn't absorbed by the body as efficiently as in smoking, but so far there are no studies showing how much of the nicotine is actually effectively taken up by the body. Thus you can't really compare smoking and vaping. However, nicotine isn't particularly dangerous in the amounts we use, nor does it appear to be the main addictive component of tobacco, so don't worry too much.

You won't be far wrong if you multiply the ml's by the strength (the mg's) and establish a figure between 33% and 50% of the total amount before vaping.

People say 'oh, you can't work it out' - but actually we did work it out (to a useful degree) using thousands of vaper's testimony. Smokers smoke to a certain level and maintain that level.
Vapers do exactly the same, although the concentration in the blood can never match smoking.

3ml of 18mg is 54mg total. That does not mean you get 54mg...
It also means you probably don't get only 5.4mg or 10.8mg. (Only 10 or 20%)

Vaping is more efficient than smoking. Smoking loses up to 80-90% of the nicotine by burning the very substance you wish to acquire.
Vaping loses nicotine, but far less (in comparison) because of the method of creating the aerosol and the particles in the vapor itself.

Looking for a ballpark ... kinda got unnerved when i did the calculation. When i did the calculation it is high lol. I use an Endura t18. So a 2.5ml tank. My liquid is a 6mg. So that gives me a base of 15ml. So 15ml per tank @ 4 tanks a days is 60ml. Now through my research the average put on cigs was 0.8 per cig. Which puts it to the equivalent of 75 cigs. I only smoked about 15 a day lmao. Hence my concern. But not having overdose like symptoms or anything. Just trying to make sense of it all. Ty

And to answer your question Bunnykiller, yes i did smoke and yes i did read the side of the pack to see what they said was in it before that was stopped lol

I think you have a Few ml's where there Should Be mg's. LOL

But anyway...

Say you Vape Four 2.5ml Tanks of 6mg/ml e-Liquid per day.

=> 4 x 2.5ml x 6mg/ml = 60mg of Total Nicotine per day.

OK... That's the Total Nicotine in the e-Liquid. But what is the Absorption Amount?

Because Cigarette are Not Rated for there Total Nicotine. But how much the Average person Absorbs when they Smoke one.

So if you use an Absorption rate of say 35%, that 60mg of Total Nicotine now becomes 21mg of Absorbed Nicotine.

Now maybe your Absorption Rate is Higher that 35%? Or maybe it is Lower than 35%? But one thing is Fur Sure, the Absorption rate is Not 100%.

Quod erat demonstrandum

@zoiDman makes exactly the point, and perfectly executed.

Is there a difference in the nicotine of a cig compared to the juice? Nicotine only, aware that the other chems arent there. I was told Eliquid use natural nicotine which isnt as strong as the nicotine used in cigs.

No. The Nicotine in e-Liquids is the Same as the Nicotine in Leaf Tobacco Products.

It's the Delivery Method that is So Different.

That is not likely, as the Nicotine we use is extracted from tobacco. It can't come from many other places.

*whoops, beaten to it* :)

There is no way to calculate how much nic your body actually absorbs based on how much & what strength nic you vape.

If you're really that worried about nicotine one accurate measure is Cotinine tests.

I believe Dr. F did a Study on Nicotine Absorption. His premise was that "2nd Generation" devices had Higher Absorption Rates than those of Cart Atty's, Cartos and Clearos.

That is where you will see people Using the Guesstimation of 35% Absorption Rate for something like an RTA or Tank.
