So, here's my story... My first e-cigarette experience was a disasterous one with one of those Prado kits that a friend gave me about a year ago, after he tried it and decided he hated it. (Luckily, I myself didn't get taken in by their questionable practices that I read about here.) I think I got it to actually produce vapor twice. I decided that e-cigs were crap after that.

Well, that same friend recently tried again and got a NicStick EGO Clear Express. It seemed to work great for him, and was not horribly expensive, so I went to a local smoke shop to get one. Well, it was an interesting experience, since the guys working there were obviously very, very "relaxed." My friend had told me that you should ask about getting e-liquid that correlated to cigarettes, and I tried to tell the guy at the shop that I smoked ultra-lights. Well, That didn't matter to him and I got 24mg tobacco-flavored e-liquid. (I coudn't really see the tiny print on the bottle, because it's time for new glasses.)

After getting it home and loaded up, I took my first draw. *cough!* I was surprised at the throat hit! A couple of draws later, I had a surprising nicotine buzz, but I liked the flavor. So I went online to find out what nicotine level I should try, and found this site.

I've also been really interested in the technical, gadget side of e-cigs. Mostly because I want an e-pipe to go with the handlebar 'stache I grew for Movember and kept. Yeah, just being weird, I guess. But I am a gadget nut so that part is genuinely appealing to me. I finally figured out the basics about batteries like EGO, and 510, and so on, but need to learn more about cartomizers and stuff. I still haven't figured out what a drip tip is exactly. Is the mouthpiece that came with mine the same thing?

Anyway, this forum has been a great resource so far, and I'm looking forward to learning more here.

Welcome to ECF! Wealth of info in these threads & nearly every question you can think of, someone here will have the answer. Great blogs to read and YouTube videos help as well with visual help on cleaning & building coils & such,

And yes, the drip tip is the "mouth piece" so to speak. Some people use a drip method w/an atty and attach a drip tip that has a large enough hole to drip juice through it and then vape. I think that's how drip tips originally got the name but not 100% sure.

Welcome! You will find a wealth of information here. There are a couple of great YouTube reviewers as well with great advice on setups and juice. I'd recommend watching GrimmGreen, PBuusardo, Todd's Ecig Reviews, Igetcha69, etc. There are many out there, but these guys are the most popular and informative in my opinion.

And yes, a drip tip is a mouthpiece that you attach to your juice delivery device. I'd recommend starting at 12 or 18mg if you were an Ultralights smoker in the past. Also, nothing beats a good quality vv eGo battery and a few Protanks, or Mini Protanks to start off your vaping journey. My first eGo setup was a Smoktech Winder, and an iClear 16. Both solid devices and a good place to begin.

Hope you find what you are looking for and happy vaping to you!

Thanks for the welcome, info, and suggestions!

There's a dedicated shop that recently opened nearby, vaperite.com. I think I'll visit them soon. And I discovered today that epipemods.com is based just a ways out of town. Gonna be an interesting adventure!

I did notice with the high-nicotine juice I'm using, it's pretty much killed any desire to smoke a regular cigarette. I've got a half a pack sitting on the table, but I'd rather vape. It's much more pleasant and less smelly.

You'll have fun at the B&M, be sure to ask a lot of questions and get some juices that you really like. Juice makes a WORLD of difference in your vaping experience as you grow as a vaper. If you've got a good, basic eGo setup and good juice, you'll be right as rain! Cheers!

Oh dear. Abandon all hope. :)

Seriously, Welcome! :)

I found it took a while to get used to the Vapour. I coughed a fair bit and just worked hard on getting used to inhaling into my mouth first.

Thanks SimianSteams!

Haha, djsvapor! I have a feeling I'm gonna completely geek out on this.

Vaping was completely natural for me, because that's how I've always smoked analogs--mouth draw first, then inhale.

I have to say, it's only been a couple days, but dang I love it! I don't even want to finish that half pack of Marlboro Silvers sitting on the desk.

Welcome! I am a newbie also and have only been vaping for a few days. I too started off with 24mg juice and you are right, it does fulfill the smoking desire completely. I actually think I will be ok to step down to 18mg once I am done with the supply I have. I can tell you that ECF is full of information and as you can see, everyone is extremely helpful and willing to provide you with answers. You have definitely come to the right place! Good luck!
