I am a long time lurker and finally gave in to becoming a member to thank everyone. You guys/gals have been a great source of information for me. I really appreciate it!

A little of my vaping story...My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and his doctor at MD Anderson suggested e-cigs in Feb. to get him off of analogs for his surgery. Well - it has worked for me since April! He has not been so good. He started out well - but then went back to analogs - you would think he would scared to death to start again! Men :2cool: (He is planning on vaping again in the near future) - BTW - he is now cancer free and I would like him to stay that way!

I have read on here that MDA has been vocal about e-cigs - but apparently some of the docs there do not agree!

We started on the Joye 510 and have graduated to the Ego - love them!

Sorry for the long post - again thank you all sooo much:thumb:

Thanks all! He has tried different levels of nic with Dunhill as his flavor. I have tried to get him to try different flavors but no go yet. He has tried a few of mine but just says - eh - thats ok. He said that the analogs taste nasty after vaping but I think he still needs to get his head straight that he really wants to quit and hasn't gotten to that point yet. Another thing is the stuff you have to do with vaping - like put in more juice and change batteries. Seems that analogs are easier - NSS! LOL! I am sure he will eventually get there - cuz I am gonna nag him to death - j/k

Howdy and welcome! I'm glad your husband is now cancer free, and wish both of you best of luck with kicking the analogs. It does take some getting used to with charging batts, refilling juice and such. I just replaced having to run to the store for cigarettes with filling parties. Besides, it's more fun to stalk the postman than to fight traffic just so I can slowly kill myself. Just my .25 cents.

This might be funny to him, or someone else... I had no intention of quitting analogs - I like smoking, just don't like the mess and stench... I saw a commercial for an e-cig and wanted more info.... I guess the phrase "... that was the beginning of the end..."
or whatever - I just stuck my last pack of analogs in a drawer and the ashtrays by the sink to wash
I think if Hubby has the opportunity to explore more/better/different finding the right 'click' might just happen.
While I have the Ego as well, I have yet to get other juices, and the ones I got with the order were just that, "ehhh, its ok"
but I'm sure there is something better/different/more out there
...just my experience from someone that wasn't planning on quitting... :)

I too didn't switch over to vaping to quit, I just wanted to a "healthier" bad habit ;).

If he's complaining about analogs being easier, maybe you can pick up some prefilled cartos so you don't have to mess with refilling for now but save them to refill later. Also, about taste - when I first started, everything tasted "bleh" but now I'm actually starting to pick up the flavors after a few weeks of vaping.

Set some goals like "cut analog usage to half by such and such date" and he'll eventually get there. If you have kids, they can be a big motivator too.
