True. If you add a fuse you'll need the beauty ring to add length for it.I thought the beauty ring was for just adding a fuse. The mod works fine without the ring but if you add a fuse the ring gives it enough space to work perfectly.
The kick ring is the shorter of the 2 extensions that come with the Nemesis. Use it to kick a 18350. Use it and the longer extension to kick a 18650. To kick a 18500 you use just the longer extension.I always assumed that was the kick ring that's listed with it. Wouldn't the screw loosen as you use it it it's not tight?
The (generally black) plastic part of the switch gets snugged tight against the bottom of the battery. The rice pin is what lets you tighten down the switch. The threaded center pin gets screwed out to adjust for battery size. So everything is tight, there's nothing getting a chance to loosen.
You can shorten the throw by adding a piece of cardboard or rubber that's the appropriate thickness. It'll go on the threaded center pin of the switch, tucked tight against the head of the screw. Look across the plastic ring. As long as you cannot see the center pin your spacer is thin enough. If you see the pin, it's too thick. Be careful and listen to hear the mod auto firing when you first use a shim until you're sure it's not too thick.
If you've upgraded to magnets, you can shim those just like you shim the center pin. Adding shims will make the magnets be closer to each other as you close the switch so will increase the resistance. Too thick a shim will make the magnets touch which can cause an auto fire. Again be careful the first time you tighten down the switch to hear if it auto fires.
