$#%!#$%
i saw them talk about this on vape team live and it seems like they tried to compensate for the over power by reducing the hz of the pulse width modulation instead of lowering the peak voltage of a pulse.

the result is a very noticeable on/off stutter as the pulsing is slower to achieve the lower power output of vrms .. does anyone have one yet? is it annoying?

i keep imagining it as like when the kick detects a low battery and does the stutter to alert user to change battery.. that would drive me insane if my device did that all day long..

I personally do not find it annoying... I actually like hearing it.. lets me know I am getting a hit (mentally).. I do not mind the delay after releasing the button either. Overall I love this device. I also saw those Osc-scope tests and at one point he even said it is very close to the ProVari under load. But yes, you can hear the pulsing... you can sort of feel it too.

If you are anywhere near Fullerton, CA. and want to give one a test run, you are more than welcome to contact me and you can check one out in person if you were considering buying one?

I expected this but mine doesn't do it. I've tried and tried to hear this and it isn't there. Mine is quiet.

I'm vaping with mine now and honestly can't hear a thing, except the firing sound. What does the shuddering sound like?
Its not easy to pick up on as it is part of the firing sound. Like i said you don't really notice it. The fact that your trying to hear it and can't means its no big thing lol.

Now if only there was some way to quickly turn a V1 into V2. I have a V1 and generally love the fit and feel of it, but it's for sure quirky and takes some adjusting to find a good sweet spot.

Are you using watts mode Hawkeye? I have a Zmax 1 as well and found my vape with it without any problem in watts mode. With the Zmax 2 I had to go up higher to get to the same place since its the accurate setting.

Yeah, I do use it in watts ... I do okay using my Phoenix RBA on it ... but it's still hard to get dialed in it seems with my ViviNovas or when I occasionally tried my Kanger T2 and T3 on it.

I've got 2 AGA-T here to build this week and perhaps it will all be a moot point yeah? :)

If I could get the ViviNova to hit right, I probably would start using the Z more when I am out and about. Other than the power quick tho, I have to say, I find it to be a very solid device. I have the SS and it just feels right in my hands. Tho occasionally it seems like the grooves have very sharp edges, but I haven't cut myself yet, so I guess it's not that bad. :p

I know I may get some flack for this ... but as far as *form* goes, I like the SS ZMax looks better than a Provari. :p

Ah - I've mainly used the vivis with both of mine. With my vivis on the Zmax 1 I was between 4-5.5 watts usually, with 2.8 ohms. Depends on the juice of course. I found 2.8 ohms good on both versions. But that's me.
As for the form - lol.

I think I have the 2.4 head on right now. I'll give it a try with the 2.8. On my Twists I really don't worry about which head I have 2.4 or 2.8, since it's easy to dial it up or down. I have 2 VNs now, so I have 2 each of the heads. Will tinker a little when I get home from work tonight.

Heh, my coworkers always comment when I have something new on top of the device, they noticed the difference in the VN right off. Wonder what they'll think if I pull out the pretty SS ZMax. :p

I have used the 2.4 ohm and it was ok, but the 2.8 ohm was better I found.
I haven't taken any of my mods to work. I've got them normalised to my 650 mah X2. That was a big step.
