I cant even get the short cap to screw on its super stiff trying to get even a few threads on it
By all means stay with the extended cap for the 18650 .
I use the stacked setup and plan to cut my spring in the extended cap when I get a chance as it takes some care not to cross thread it because of being a little too long. I will have to use the short cap for the 18650 if I do that though.

ok so I got a better battery in here and its working now.
this new one I got is protected but seems to be doing fine.
its a marsfire 2600 mah and seems to be working great.
I will play with some settings for a while and report back...

The only thing I dont like about it at the moment is the sharpness of the slits in the side of it.
if I decide to keep it I will chamfer them a bit to make them smooth

They actually soften up with use. I like them the way that they are now myself but they did smooth out after just a few days.

I am so glad to know that you are finally enjoying your Z :vapor:
