Hows your Dura-C doing?

After a few days, I can say:

Overall, great improvement over DSE 901. Throat hit almost as strong as a good working order 901, but the main difference is that 901 give good hit for 10 minutes, dura for a long time.

Battery life, quality, reliability, performance does not degrade after the first few minutes of a battery charge, huge carts, quality product.

If only it could have the kick of the first 5 minutes of a DSE, it would be perfect.

Manual switch: I rather have normal switch, but given the choice of poorly working auto switch or manual, I take manual. The reason I switched from 901 is primarily the constant failure of switches with the DSE 901, which was nearly 100%, including on USB pass-through.

Dura C does turn itself off when I am done puffing, and does not randomly turn itself on in my pocket, that by itself is a reason to switch from 901.

Ultimate throat hit? Have DSE 901 and 100 batteries, use each battery for 5 minutes. That is better throat hit than Dura C. But if you want just two batteries, Dura C is the way to go.

I'm less than a week into vaping, and I'm hooked. Currently switching between the M401 and Dura-C (leaning towards the Dura-C). The combination of the big throat hit and analog cig-like resistant draw is great. Battery life is impressive - although it did go to sleep on me at the bar the other night (freaked out). All in all, thoroughly impressed. One of the atomizers looks to be frayed as if it were damaged, but performs just as well as the other, so I haven't been too concerned.

Have DSE 901 and 100 batteries, use each battery for 5 minutes.

Sitting here surrounded by my "stash" of no less than 7 different models of e-cigs, all of which have at least 3 batteries, sometimes more, I can't say why the idea of 100 batteries disturbs me . . . but it does. ;)

I have a had a few different 901 kits and I don't think any of them have even come close to the throat hit and vapor production of the Dura-C. Besides my atomizers dropping on me like flies, it is awesome.

There you go Julie. Dura C may reduce your battery count. But you have to get it, which means you get more batteries. So I guess not :)

Yeh good 901 gives stronger hit than the dura for a few minutes when its out of the charger. Having said that most 901s that I had don’t do that. Especially the newer model that says "mini" on it. The atomizer is not as good and has harder draw. The latest batch of switches on the 901 keeps frying the liquid, so lame hit with those batteries and bad taste.

So I am either lucky with the older 901 or unlucky with the dura. But no complaints, I think the dura is a big step over 901 and I am happy I got it.

You ain't kidding! I used to be normal and dream of Jenna and other porn girls. Now I wake up in a cold sweat after having dreams of being in a bathtub submerged in new batteries and atomizers. I've got issues :)

I got my Dura-C last week or the week before and am impressed with it as well. The manual switch lets me smoke it more like an analog. No primer hit, and no hard sucking like on auto switches. One of the atomizers that came with mine doesn't fit the carts right though. The carts seem too wide and after trying to jam it in there, shaves and malforms it so it doesn't fit the 'correct' atomizer afterwards.

All-in-all a new fav, but, I find the screwdriver to be just a notch above in everything but portability.

I used to dream about chocolate cake. Now I dream about Screwdrivers, Dura-Cs, e-liquid, and the postman (actually, postwoman).

Apparently, I have issues as well.

I'm being very careful with mine. Had 2 atomizers go in 2 days. May have been a total fluke, bad batch, who knows, but I'm very cautious in using it.

I never leave it laying flat, always upright. I top off frequently to keep everything moist. I'm careful not to overfill, careful to wipe the cart and inside to avoid leaks. I never drip. If the atom gets more than slightly warm, I disassemble and use another atom. Just careful, careful, careful. Maybe after the rest of my backups get here I'll be more free with it.

Haven't had leaking from the carts, have noticed leaking from between the atom and battery. Mostly when not actively using I've got it mounted upright in one of those Duck Gripper-Grab-It things. Several times I have noted dribbles of juice, like you might see condensation on a glass, from the batt/atom area, running down outside of atom. Also have noted juice from upright batts left to sit. So always wiping down connections before putting in any of the chargers or case.

I'm new here but I'll weigh in on my Dura C.
Been using it for a week and absolutely love it! I first got the SmokingEverywhere(don't recommend it), then got the DSE 901 black and stainless models from Totally Wicked...the stainless had better throat hit for some reason. Great Service from TW by the way.

The Dura C blows them away IMO. Better throat hit and larger capacity carts. I think the good throat hit is due to a fatter metal wick atomizing more liquid more quickly.(Or hotter vapor)
Throat hit stayed consistant, batteries work better, longer than DSE901. The manual switch is the best and I think the battery power may be extended by the fact that there is no light to drain the power on each draw. The switch is great because the atomizer stays powered for as long as you need and not reliant upon a fast enough draw from the lungs.

You can get a long relaxing puff and not worry about a stupid vacuum switch cutting off your vape as your draw slows at the end of your breath.

By the way, for maintaining the atomizer I have been blowing out the atomizer from both ends by mouth and then running isopropyl alcohol through it and blowing that out too and then let dry overnight. Water is not good for any heating element circuitry if it is not thoroughly removed (causes short circuiting) and alcohol evaporates much quicker and more thoroughly so is a superior choice IMO.
I also would recommend frequently Qtipping the threads of the battery and atomizer before screwing them together for better contact. I see dirt on the Qtips every time. This may reduce voltage drop caused by increased resistance from dirt build up.
Sorry for being so long winded and geeky.

I'm anxious to see how long the components last.
