Howto: Tighten up the cartomizer adapter draw

So while I wait patiently for my cartomizer adapter for my Protege, I've been fiddling with one of those 510 to cartomizer adapters with the airy draw. I got in a new order of atomz today and am waiting for the batteries to charge on my new ace kit but I had to try out some of these flavors.

I've got a method to tighten up the draw on the cartomizer adapter that is real quick and simple, here's what I did. I took one of the rubber caps that came with the atoms and pinched the closed off end so that it bulged out, then with a cuticle cutter I cut a very small hole in it. Popped that on the end of the atomz and it draws perfectly.

Technically I cheated because I've been using this for a week now on my 510 atomizer instead of a cart for dripping so I had already tweaked it to give me the draw I was looking for there. As a 510 atty cap it works pretty good, I only get a small drop of juice in the mouth about once a day (no drops if I wipe the tip off every once in while for some reason), but as a cartomizer regulator I think it's found it's calling. I did cut it a little shorter so it was easier to slide off of the 510 stainless steal atomizer so I will move it back and forth between the two as needed.

I will see if I can get some pics up to explain this a little better if anybody is interested. It sure makes the wait for my 808 adapter for from PS a little easier. I've been smoke free for almost 2 weeks and the dripping was starting to get to me a little. It has it's place and the flavor can't be beat, but I want something a little lower maintenance and the atomz seem to do the job!

Ok, here we go, iphone pic alert so they might not be the best.

Here is the setup. my protege, 510 adaptor, 510 atomizer, rubber cap from cartomizer (clipped a little shorter and hole cut in). Below that you will see a fresh cartomizer cap, the 510 to cartomizer adapter, and the Atom (is that the singular for Atomz? ;))

Here is the same thing with the Atom installed

Here is the cuticle cutter I used

This is pinching the closed end of the cartomizer cap so that I can cut a small hole in it (cut it small, you can always make it larger if you need to)

and here is the final product (I trimmed mine down so that it would slide on and off the stainless steal atomizer easier, although I think it stretches over use because now mine slides off pretty easily)

I hope that helps somebody out, I'm loving it, stiffened the draw up to somewhere in between the default airy draw and not being able to draw at all! I've made several of these now, trial and error, and have made them too small, you can tell, it's like trying to suck a thick milkshake through a straw.

p.s. it works great on the 510 atomizer too, much easier for dripping, shortens the whole unit up a bit too without the empty 510 cart on there. I also like the little warmth you get from the atomizer this way, reminds me of smoking.

p.p.s. looking at some of those pics you can tell that I'm not the one that uses the cuticle cutter... ;)

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee cuticle cutter......... RUN. omg it hurts when those little asian... wait i swear i dont get manicure/pedicures... well it happened one time.. my mom made me do it. it wasn't THAT bad i guess... other than when they were messing with my cuticles...

back on topic: only after trying the Ace kit did i realize how airy the altsmoke 808 adapter was. i hope the protege adapter replicates the ace. i've actually been using the ace because of the better draw.

Yeah, the ace is perfect to me, here's hoping the 808 adapter hits like the ace, I will be all set up then.
