So first of all, let's recap:
Skip to 8:54. If you unscrew the base for a bit, bubbles come up and the next vape will be great.
Here's the thing, though: If you unscrew the top of the ProTank II (and supposedly also Mini) by one complete turn and the base by half a turn, the bubbles will come up after each vape and every vape will be that great. If you tighten everything down some more the flow will be reduced again, which makes this basically a liquid control.
This works in two ways:
When you vape it and the liquid level drops, you create a vacuum on top of the liquid that keeps the liquid from entering the vaporization chamber. By unscrewing the top, it allows air to flow in at the top and keep the tank at atmospheric pressure, giving you a much better vape. There will be now liquid coming out of the tank, as it's still sealed enough to keep it in.
If you unscrew the bottom, less force gets exercised on the silicone grommet on the atomizer head. It pushes down easier on the wicks and the liquid flow gets adjusted that way, too. Alternatively, you could also shorten the rubber grommet, but in that case two wicks need to be used to prevent flooding.
This also works with the vapeonly BCC, although it's more of a quarter turn there while the ProTank II allows for a complete turn.
Works great with 50/50 liquid and a single flavor wick for me, no more dry hits at all. You know you've got it right when it has an ever so slight gurgle but without it shooting liquid into your mouth or completely flooding.
Have fun with it.
Disclaimer: Screw it the .... down before you put it into your pocket. Otherwise, you'll not only get flooding but also risk for it to come apart and dump the liquid all over the place. Also, the flavor may be improved, but it's still seriously lacking on the ProTank.
