Hubby "lost" his usb charger!

Actually, my husband didn't lose it, he left it plugged in by his computer and the kids lost it. In either case, it's been swallowed up by the pit known as his man cave, and apparently has been since last night since he didn't have a fully charged batt as he was going to work. Loving wife that I am, I sacrificed my usb charger to let him charge at work because normally a single charge usually lasts me all day (even though we have Volts! I'm a light vaper, I guess).

Here's the crux: I'll be tearing apart the basement today to find that darn usb, but I've now learned the lesson so many of the more experienced vapers keep repeating to us noobs: HAVE SPARES! We're waiting on an order of juice from TVR, but now I need to order some spare parts, too. What is the minimum we should have as our spares? Between the two of us we now have 4 batts, 1 usb charger (until I find his), and a handful of cartos (and a fairly decent selection of juice).

I would say at least 2 more batts, one more charger. I try not to run too low on cartos (or whatever I am using- clearos right now), because you never know when an order will be delayed due to vendors being backed up on shipping, out of stock, USPS suddenly reverts to pony express, etc. It's hard to say how many, not knowing how long they last you. I think I would say at least a 2 week supply.

Spares are your friend against the lure of tobacco!

A good spare to keep is a convenience outlet USB plug for your car. In a last resort, you can use it along with the charger cable to get power to the charger. I keep two AC outlet chargers and a car charger just for backup. It also works when the street power is out ... something we don't think about until it happens.

If he has a popular model, you could check VaporSearchUSA.com and call shops near you to see if their have a charging cable and a storefront.

And note - since I don't know what you have - 510 threading does not mean can use a 510 charger.
Real Joye 510 and compatible slim 510 uses 510 charger
Ego and Riva 510 can use an Ego charger
FS510 and all L88b models (like Blu and Volcano's Volcano model) are reverse polarity and need their own chargers
And nothing but auto 510-T uses auto 510-T's charger

Re spares -
I always have 3 charging cables for each model I use - 2 cables at home so I can charge 2 batteries at once, and one at work
Batteries - I always have 1-2 or more spares. In some cases the spares are other models with the same threading and their own charging method (like for 510 I have 510, Riva 510, multiple box mods. For KR808D-1 the slim V4L ones and a KR8/901 box mod) and I have spare 14500 batteries and charger for the box mods.

And if you are worried about running out of charge yourself, you can get a cheap ecig at Riteaid (I saw one on the checkout counter display - looked like an RN4081 w/ usb charger)

How familiar are you with Mr Murphy?
At one point me and the wife had 2 batteries each plus 2 new ones as spares, My sister had 2 batteries in use and no spares and one died so she called and asked if we had a spare while she was waiting to order and I figure no problem so I lent her one, the following day I had a battery die and the day after that my wife had 2 batteries die we had all started about the same time we where all useing joye egos and still do mostly. With the wife and myself we have twice as much stuff but it can also serve as backup as well kinda sorta.
4 650 batteries in rotation with 2 chargers and bu 2 new wall chargers
2 passthrus with 2 cords and bu 1 new cord
4 new 650 batteries as bu
One cigar lighter passthru charger for vehicles we also found our cell chargers and the Garmin charger will also charge our passthrus so we ended up with multiple possibilities for chargeing our passthrus.
Juice and cartos/fluxo minimum 2wk supply and prefer 1 month.
I like to think I would have made a good Boyscout and dont ever want a reason to go back to stinkies.

Almost forgot I just got a Provari with AW IMR batteries2 18490 and 2 18650s I already have multiple wall chargers for these batteries and have 6-8 Trustfire batteries for flashlights and such but wanted AW IMRs for the Provari and the Trustfire might just fill in for backups just incase. Might just order another Provari with Blue LED as a backup you know the whole be prepared thing.

Yah, it might be an idea to order another full kit for 2 spare batteries, ect along with a new charger, as well you might save a couple of bucks doing it that way instead of separate purchase. You can never have enough spare parts around. Especially with two vapers in the house, just like mine.

I think that I'll probably order one Volt kit to go with what we already have (I'm not sure how compatible Volt is with other chargers). We need more blank cartos anyways - the two boxes I bought are simply NOT enough, although I think I can clean them out and reuse them for different juices....

Hubby wants a more powerful kit, so I'll probably be getting him a new system once our tax money is in. I'm pretty darn excited about doing more research! I'm the one that learns about these type of things while my husband is just along for the ride, which is fine with me because we'd end up getting what I want in any case... this just makes it easier.

Hope by now you have "your" charge back, but it is always good to have spares and back-up... yada, yada, yada. Once you have your charger, though, you may be able to buy a spare at a local electronics store (RadioShak, etc.). I know they carry the exact same usb car converter that I could buy from an on-line site, but it is a lot cheaper to just get it through them and they work just fine.

Take the USB charger you have with you - not sure what set-up you have but you might find something that is workable and safe. Good luck.
