Cool...Don had a bear on his trail cam...lots of nice bucks too but that was before the season started...now is when they need to come out..
My hubby went out yesterday. No deer. Then driving home he saw a bunch on the road. Sigh. Hes strictly bow. Gonna try again in 2 weeks when he visits next.
Today we went out to check the apples we had left out for the deer across our pond. They were ALL eaten. We're almost positive our area is packed full of them. We see them every once in a while if the house wakes up early. This year we think it was deer that ate out all of the garden my mother and I had planted mid fall. We think it was deer because I had put up a chicken wire fence about a foot and a half tall all around the garden and the parts of the plants that had been eaten were all just above the fence. My brother plans to buy a deer feeding device or a salt block, and some estrous spray or whatever so that we can spot them and shoot one to make jerky, sausage, and sauteed meats and organs mmmm, deer heart and liver are some of my favorites! (the caviar of the deer is the giblets, the heart, the liver, etc etc..) I would rather not KILL a deer. I'd rather kepe a deer alive than have meat, but I'm not going to stop my brother from having his fun and I'm not opposed to deer jerky. lol.
