it was MB, actually a little south in Garden City. That was devastation, I can only imagine what was worse
You know I have thought that way tooWe lived in Charleston for more than 30 years. Even though the hurricanes were not why we moved to the foothills in the upstate I was so freakin glad not to have to be stressed during hurricane season anymore
But now we have to worry about the darn tornadoes
I think that anywhere you go you will have some type of disasterous weather to deal with.
Here in East Texas they just said that we're at day 56 with temperatures over 100 degrees.
blahh tornados...I refuse to move down by my sis n nieces because of tornados.. yea there is bad weather/mother natures fury anywhere..I really can't complain come hurricane season here, but sooner or later there will be the killer storm and it will wipe out NYC/Long Island....
I grew up in east Islip. .Don't ask me how I ended up in Coram lolYou are probably right about that. And it will come when least expected.
BTW- I was born on Long Island (Islip) and still have family there![]()
Central Virginia here worring about the storm coming our way. With evacs everwhere....

And scorpions and rattle snakes...I was telling a few friends today , that if I survive this storm, I am moving to Az where the only real threat is a cactus.....after this past year of record snow , a partial earthquake and now a hurricane, I want out =/
As a Katrina survivor stay safe and leave. The storm probably will not be the worst part. For us here about 50 miles inland from MS coast it was the days after. No lights, no water, no phones, upper 90's. I leaned you can survive without all the modern stuff BUT IT AIN"T FUN.
My wife and 2 daughters are at outdoor events today and we were hoping the rain would hold off a little. Nope. The rain has started. Wife is in downtown DC for a conference that is mainly indoors but there will be some outdoor walking involved. She will probably get wet. She is so sweet, she may melt a little when wet!
My daughters are at an outdoor festival near Annapolis and there is not much indoors there. They will get wet too! They're not as sweet! They will be fine
So far, so good with Marivella, my baby grand daughter. She is napping and I am watching the idiots on The Weather Channel. I actually saw one of them in hurricane winds on the beach saying "it's getting dangerous out here, if you know anyone that is outdoors in this, they shouldn't be!" Well, I am watching someone on TV that is in it. Crazy.
They act surprised when they see other people out and about! Do they think they are more powerful than others. Does being a weatherman give you super powers that help in a hurricane? Why aren't they being evacuated?
