I believe water is best, as it will not interfere with your e-juice flavors and your palate. Also, coffee and some soda's will have caffeine, which will have a mild diuretic effect which in itself may add to the dehydration issue.

But the bottom line is simply to keep hydration up, no matter what liquids might be available to your disposal.

its strictly for hydration. as the pg and vg are well known drying agents.
personally i drink tea and coffee by the gallons before i ever vaped and never see a problem.

but soda is a yes and no depending on who you talk too, there was a thread on here bout a month ago with some doctors research showing soda isnt as bad for dehydration as many thought and Caffeine isnt as bas a diuretic as many think unless drunk excessively.

If your in the desert dying of thirst, a soda pop is gonna save your life, your body will recognies the fluid being injested as essential to your survival. In our everyday world pop can often cause a dehydrative effect. Especialy diet soda. How often do you see an athleat chug a pepsi in the heat of the moment? Water is absorbed fast and readily by your body, other soft drinks ect. need a certain breakdown. Not the worst thing in the world, but certainly not the best.

I was a boxing coach with 2 national champs in 2003, and helped coach a pan-american champ in 2008, and have also helped coach a mixed martial arts world champ. I know about hydration. If you are severly dehydrated, with head ache, runny nose, cramping, I highly sugest Pedialight. This is given to babies who are dehydrated from being sick. I had my fighters use this for years and years rather than Gatoraid and the like. USA Boxing now endorses this proceedure. For every thing else water is the way to go.

Adding more liquids to your diet is essential. You probably didn't drink a lot to begin with, but you need to have quite a bit of water or liquid anyways. I live in Arizona, just like Crazyinariz does, and even though we do drink a lot because of the dry heat, you can squeeze in a bit more. It is hard, I know, since I really have issues choking down water, but you can doctor it up a bit, fresh lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice....picked those cause they do grow here a lot and they are easily accessible, some of you might need a bit of sweetener, I would choose natural honey, not much but it can help with cutting the tart of these fruits. This is just some advice from someone that hates water and found ways of making it a bit better.

Soda and coffee both have caffeine. Caffeine is a diuretic, so it doesn't really help to keep you hydrated. Water with added fruit juice, Gatorade, anything with a lot of water and electrolytes will helps to facilitate hydration. :2c:

x2! Coffee can be a great flavor enhancer with certain juices but caffeine free water based products are the only way to hydrate. Carbonation seems to cut down the hydrating factor as well somehow. I don't have "proof" for that, just my .02 worth.

its not how much liquid we vape, its the fact the vapor itself coats our lungs and throat and causes dehydration and drying of the membranes surface.
That helps a little. I'm pita when it comes to why this why that. It doesn't really matter a whole lot this time because I drink plenty so I guess I'll live. (. :

I drank close to a gallon of water a day before kicking the stinkies anyway , so hydration isn't an issue with me.

I do get "Cotton mouth" from vaping, but a quick drink of liquid cures it. Diet (anything) soda is nasty combined with any juice I have tried....

Coffee or any strong flavored liquid does drown out the flavor of E-juice....

It's helpful to increase your fluid intake when you start vaping. The PG and VG carriers are hygroscopic. That means they will absorb water and can leave you somewhat dehydrated. Any fluids you drink (coffee, sodas, milk, juice water, etc.) will help to hydrate your body. One exception is alcoholic beverages. Drink enough and they will leave you dehydrated. Caffeine is a diuretic but drinking caffeinated sodas or coffee will provide net hydration, not dehydration.

I had to increase my fluid intake during the first few months of vaping. Later on I didn't need all the extra fluids, but I only vape 2 ml of VG per day. Most of my symptoms of dehydration were thirst and local drying of the nasal passages as I exhale through the nose fairly often.
