I base my knowledge on experience. If I don't drink basically the same quantity of water to the amount of soda and energy drinks that I consume, then I'll stay thirsty. When I was smoking I would have to drink extra to account for that. I think the climate that you are in will affect how much fluid you need to drink too, i.e. when I'm working in Texas I have to drink more water than when I'm home in Lousiana.

True, climate does have a bearing - it's pretty chilly here most of the time.

But if you're used to drinking lots of water, and then stop, and feel thirsty, that only really proves that you're used to drinking lots of water.

I rarely drink water unless I'm doing physical work or sport, or spending hours in the sun (maybe a pint a fortnight when I'm not doing these things? Hard to guess, might well be less), and I'm not dehydrated. There are many people who drink caffeinated tea *all day*, never drink water, and don't in normal circumstances end up dehydrated.

Over 90% of any of these drinks is water. That they don't rehydrate is basically a myth - the diuretic effect just isn't that strong.

Obviously if you drink ten pints of lager you'll be dehydrated the next day. But a couple of cans of beer (or cups of coffee) is going to hydrate you more or less as much as the equivalent volume of water.

google

Diuretic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diuretic‎
A diuretic is any substance that promotes the production of urine. This includes forced diuresis. There are several categories of diuretics. All diuretics increase ...

(figured i probably am not the only one who didnt know what diuretic meant)

Since i switched to vaping, i also had drastically increased my water intake. whats funny is if i dont drink water when i vape, i start to get nauseous. and i vape 0mg nic, 100%VG. any explanations?

i also vape 0 nic and tend to use mostly vg. lets keep in touch.

i been experimenting with vg + water or vg + a premade purchased mix.

pure vg is too heavy on the lungs,

As a Diabetic I consumed plenty of diet soda in my time and have felt the effects from the Aspertame ingredient they put in it. I went away from drinking alot of it and felt the difference. Besides dehydration I had sore joints and felt mentally un sharp at times which all went away when I tapered off diet soda. Research Aspertame poisoning and see the known affects it will blow your mind.
I looked into this years ago, and switched to Splenda. Splenda is - so far - medically safe to use, compared to aspartame. I avoid "sugar free" products unless I know they don't use it - like when I have a yen for soda, I get the Diet Coke make with Splenda. I had a major Diet Coke addiction for years, and when the side effects started popping up, I quit aspartame as much as I can.
